Re: The period key not speaking
Hi Quentin,

I tried both of your suggestions, but no luck. I must have done something wrong, because I lost voice and could not NVDA. So using JAWS I uninstalled and reinstalled NVDA. Then I went to voice dictionary and typed "pattern" and the voice returned.. There is no a list ov entries in the voice dictionary. Both the key for period and the word period are still silent. If I move on the word with the right arrow key the letters p e r i o d are spoken.

Re: java access bridge doesn't work in nvda anymore
Ralf Kefferpuetz
Hi Heike,
I can confirm 2 issues:
I used this program many years ago and it was very accessible with Java Acces Bridge installed but the newest version seems to be broken for screen readers. But I still can see the problem that 2019.3.1 doesn’t come with an automatic install of Java Access Bridge, or I missed the procedure to install it.
Cheers, Ralf

MP3 Direct Cut Chattering too Much with NVDA Add-On
Rich DeSteno
The answer to the mystery of why I have been getting constant chatter of the time in MP3 Direct Cut is that I was using the most recent version of DC,version 2.28. Thanks to Brian's suggestion, I examined the add-ons details with the insert-h key combination. The author clearly states that the add-on was only tested up to version 2.23 of DC. I downloaded version 2.23 and installed it over 2.28 and the chatter is now gone! So if you want to use the NVDA Direct Cut add-on, I recommend using a version of DC no later than 2.23.

yep, and what is really strange is that I installed
NVDA on the client pc along with remote. then I switched to NVDA after
disconnecting the tandem. As long as I was working on the client pc everyting
seemed fine. when I disconnected my pc started dragging. I had to reboot to get
back to normal.

Re: NVDA/Jaws

I have not done JAWS tandem in a while. But when I do I switch back toNVDA and never had an issue. Do you have the NVDDA 2019.3.1 update?

Re: web page objects that require the use of the mouse
David Moore
Have you used the NVDA add-on called Golden cursor! That add-on adds much more support for using the mouse, and allows you to use the arrow keys to move the mouse around the screen, and tells you where the mouse pointer is on the screen! Golden cursor is needed if you are really going to use the mouse! David Moore

Ok, I finally got back to this. I tried all the suggestions given and it still didn't work. I couldn't believe it was my system causing the problem so I decided to take a look in settings and make sure.
I made some changes that looked like they might affect the mouse tracking and other things and now it is working correctly. In fact, I don't even have to take any direct actions, when I move the focus to that line on the page it automatically reports the email address of the contact.
I really should have made one change at a time and tested each but I didn't so I don't even now for certain which changes fixed the situation. Shame on me. ;)
Thanks to all who provided some assistance.

I have a copy of OE that works just fine in windows
10.It does not ask for anything but your email information. It does have one
quirk. The shortcut it creates on the desktop is incorrect. Let me know if you
want it and I'll send a Dropbox link.

Re: web page objects that require the use of the mouse
Gene
The commands have nothing to do with what you want
to do. Don't assume you are wrong when something doesn't make sense.
How did you search for the command? I'd
rather help you find it yourself than just give it since you may be better able
to find other commands in future. If you don't find a command, use less
words. In this case, you may have said route mouse. If that doesn't
find the command, just search for mouse. After about seven repetitions of
the search, NVDA key f3 to repeat the search, you'll find it. If you have
problems let us know.
