Remember to that if you still have Kurzweil1000 reading&scanning software, yu could use the eloquence provided on it. I used to do this with when had K1000 on my Windows XP machine; I haven’t upgraded so as to be able to use it nowadays.

MS Speech mobile isn't compatible for this version. I have one pleasure to developers of NVDA.

Please, could You edit Windows Onecore to same things, as MS Speech mobile, for example to correct pronunciation of letters and also, names of voices viewing, as name of voice and language. Also, there is problem with sorting of voices, because voices are sorted randomly.

Please, could You look on It?

Also, make sure you have restarted the computer after updating.  Sometimes random things misbehave in that interim time.

technically, what exactly would constitute an irrecoverable freeze of
NVDA? Isn't the watchdog in place to prevent that exact thing? Or are
there calls which might potentially freeze but which the watchdog is
not guarding?

Hi all!

 

Just ran across something a few days ago when I installed the latest nvda update.  I’m a winamp user.  When you hit s for shuffle or r for repeat, you should hear “on” or “off.”  It doesn’t say anything but “off.”  Weird!  I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling winamp.  I always get the light version.  I’m guessing there haven’t been any updates since 5.63.  Radionomy hasn’t done anything with it as far as I know.  Maybe I’m wrong and that’s the issue.  Anyway, like I said, it’s a pretty minor thing in the grand scheme of things but I just wanted someone to know.

Re UI Automation, it's basically a different way for NVDA to get the information about where the focus is and what is happening in Word.  Not everything is available using UIA, although there are some things available that way which aren't available using traditional methods.  Unfortunately it's not something that we can "mix and match" to get everything - we have to use either all UIA or all traditional methods.

For now, for most users, we feel the original way still works best, but UIA is there either for people who want to try it (probably developers) or for those who need to access something only available using UIA.

Subject: [nvda] List of Tabs "NOT Available Here"

Hello,

I have noticed that recently when I am in Firefox and press NVDA+F6, NVDA says "not available here". I've reset Firefox and NVDA's configuration to no avail. I am running the latest Windows 10, and have not yet updated to NVDA 2019.3.

Anyone have suggestions?

Yes, it's a command from the Mozilla Apps Enhancements add-on for NVDA:  https://addons.nvda-project.org/addons/mozillaScripts.en.html

The reason for doing that is to try to find out if the problem is with Firefox or NVDA.

Before resetting things and losing settings, if that's what happened, the first thing to do is to try the command in another browser.  What happens if you do?

There is no NVDA f6 command.  You are using a browser command, f6 to move from pane to pane or to different structures in the program.  Just use F6.
