I have noticed that recently when I am in Firefox and press NVDA+F6, NVDA says "not available here". I've reset Firefox and NVDA's configuration to no avail. I am running the latest Windows 10, and have not yet updated to NVDA 2019.3.

Anyone have suggestions?

The command control alt n, the command used to start NVDA will restart it, but I would think there are times when it can't, depending on how it freezes.

I feel your pain, haha. I want to make original graphics for my YouTube channel but haven’t found a solution. 
I began working on a Windows desktop app in C# where you choose a shape from a drop down and then fill out relevant attributes — length, height, border/fill colors etc and it draws it on the canvas. I was taking a class where we needed to draw up a simple mockup of the GUI of the apps we were building as homewor assignments so I was trying to make myself a utility that would allow me to build a UI mockup without being able to see it. Long story short, I got it partially finished but moved on to other things and never finished it. Maybe I should dig back into it.

According to the FAQ on that page:

It can be done with NVDA's speech dictionary.  You'd need to use a "regular expression" (regex) to avoid having enter every possible combination of numbers.  Actually another way (since I haven't ever sat down and properly learned regex, and I haven't fully thought this through) I just tried, is to make a speech dictionary entry to change "." (period or full stop, no quotes) to "dot" (d o t, again no quotes).

Hi Cordelia,

A log, information about the programs / versions running, and steps to reproduce could all help.

A couple of other things which can help:

- If you've recently updated NVDA or any other program, make sure you have restarted the computer as this can solve random bugs which happen in between installing or updating software, and restarting (it's one of the reasons most software, including NVDA, recommends restarting after installing).
- Restart NVDA with add-ons disabled: Press NVDA+Q, then down arrow to "Restart with add-ons disabled" and press ENTER.

This sounds to me like the longstanding problem that some programs, when you uninstall them, unregister some.dll files.  NVDA has a utility to correct the problem.  Open the menu with NVDA key n.  Find and open the tools submenu.  Find and run the com registry fixing tool.  That may not be the exact name but its close enough that you will know it.  The tool reregisters the .dll files, if they have become unregistered.

This also happened to me and I dealt with it by  installing  Waterfox at that time as a slimmed down version of FireFox with at the time better accessibility.

I have now pretty much moved to using Brave full time now so I am not quite sure of the full status of Waterfox. I relaunched it just now and it appears to be still OK.

Can you please give more information about what happened here.  I can't quite follow / replicate what you have done.  Firstly which program are you working in?  Initially I thought maybe Word, but SHIFT+TAB doesn't change documents in Word.  CONTROL+F6 will switch between open Word documents, or ALT+TAB will switch between open windows (from any program).

You can use SHIFT+TAB in File Explorer to move from the file list to the folder list, which you might do if you want to move to another folder of documents?

All of those things worked just fine in Windows 10 / Office 2016 / NVDA 2019.3 for me just now.

Also you said NVDA kept talking, what was it saying?

If you could email that information with a full copy of the log to info@... I can have a look for you.

Using Windows 10 64 bit home.
NVDA 2019.3.1.
Have installed Vocalizer driver/voices.
Each time NVDA loads I receive a message from Vocalizer that my credentials cannot be verified.
It says to check where my email ans password have been entered correctly. Have done this and it is correct.
The screen also suggests that I am using another person's software or that I am attempting to use Vocalizer on more than one computer. This is not correct.
Went to the Vocalizer site and downloaded the driver 3.14 I think it was. However when I attempt to install I am told thqat this addon is blocked. The only driver addon that works form me is a version (3.10) which I installed with an earlier beta.
Is there another driver version I should have and if so where is it?
