Visual indicator of NVDA cursor location?
Luke Robinett
When I am sharing my screen with remote colleagues via Skype or I just have a coworker looking over my shoulder as we work together on something, it’s hard for sighted folks to follow along with me because I’m not using the mouse. Is there a way to enable some sort of visual indicator of the NVDA cursor so sighted people can follow along as we navigate?

Restoring default speech dictionary and symbol pronunciation?
Luke Robinett
Hi, I have looked around online and tried some experimenting but I can’t seem to figure this out. To make a long story short, over the years I’ve kind of messed up my symbol pronunciation and speech dictionaries and want to just start over with both of them. Is there any way to do this short of completely re-installing NVDA and losing all my other custom settings?

Hello listers Is the NvSpeech Player addon still developed? More importantly, is it compatible with the latest NVDA? If so, kindly provide a direct download URL. Sincere thanks Carlos --

Well, you're still running Windows 10 Version 1809, which is a problem to begin with. Get yourself updated to 1909 - pronto, and see if that makes a difference.

I downloaded the update . The fanfare sounded and then
... and then ... Deafening silence There is nothing remarkable about this computer except it is amd64 architecture and the previous versions did work well. It is also new as of February of 2019 and is not wanting for resources. I was able to get Narrator going and used a 2018 version of nvda saved on a thumb drive and installed that for now. I don't quit4 care for it at faster speed, but that's just me. I work at high speed for anyone who has watched my videos and has heard my headset bleed through. Lol! I can tolerate vocalizer but only for so much. They do soudn better at slower speeds. Sarah Alawami, owner of TFFP. . For more info go to our website. Hi Don, I never used Vocalizer with NVDA, but I have it with Jaws. I know Vocalizer has a good selection of voices. I leave the Acapela synth settings on their defaults, so I haven't modified them at all. Acapela, like Vocalizer has really good sound quality & is very good to work with. I don't go really fast with the speech though.

Re: nvda not routing correctly?
Nvda f5 did nto work. IN discord I got taken back up to the top of in this case my general chat. I went somewhare, then hit nvda shift m. I did not hear it repeat what I was routing to. I checked and the curser had not moved from the edit field. This tends to happen mostly in web interfaces but I've seen this in OBS, and even prepared. Sarah Alawami, owner of TFFP. . revisiting the ibm viavoice system
Hi.
After the collection of addons this morning, I have been lookihng at voxin which I understand is a tts for linux. Viavoice may be usefull depending on the files it needs. The voxin packages are here. https://voxin.oralux.net/ These are linux but I wander about nvda themselves now we have the vocaliser, they are reasonably priced so I may try these.

Re: nvda not routing correctly?
Gene
You might try this. After you move to an item
you want to route to, try the command JAWS key f5. That probably won't
help at all, but you never know.
I don't know why you have this problem and I never
have problems routing when browse mode is on. When I move somewhere in
browse mode, turn it off, and route, it often doesn't work correctly. If
you are in browse mode, I don't know why you have this problem. I'll add
that I use an old version of NVDA because I like how it works better in one or
two programs I use a lot and I don't need or use newer features so I don't know
if new or recent versions would have this problem for me. I may try the
current or a recent version and compare.

Thank you to the Acapela Group for updating their Speech Engine for NVDA to 1.6. It is working very well with NVDA 19.3 and python 3. I use the Karen Speech Voice with Acapela.

Re: My addons collection
I agree also there is blind extra in this collection which is actually quite bad. There is this ibm viavoice addon, I have not seen that before. Well actually I found it but only the driver is free, not the synth. Good job trying to get it. Vox syn for linux seems to be the only one with the libraries so maybe I wll try and see if I can fiddle with this and demo it later.
