Woops, sorry. It was Alt+tab. And for what it was reading, it was
reading the title of the document. When I pressed alt tab or windows+M
to go to the desktop, the speech would stop and it would go there but
if I pressed Shift or control then still it would not stop speaking. I
will mail the logue to the e-mail you suggested.
One more thing, when I started NVDA in debug mode, the problem
occurred after 15 to 20 minutes. The log is around 8000 characters
long so should I remove the dialogue of the unwanted speech during
those 15 minutes or send the log as it is?
Ralf, I looked at the UI automation option in the advanced settings
and it was not enabled. What does it actually do?

I'd really like the sapi version but the only way I can buy the usb version is via a uk site and its a lot of cash round 600 bucks for the thing plus gst.

I really just want a download of infovox sapi only and a key.

While I could buy it for nvda I really want to use it for sapi output.

I have noticed that recently when I am in Firefox and press NVDA+F6, NVDA says "not available here". I've reset Firefox and NVDA's configuration to no avail. I am running the latest Windows 10, and have not yet updated to NVDA 2019.3.

The command control alt n, the command used to start NVDA will restart it, but I would think there are times when it can't, depending on how it freezes.

I feel your pain, haha. I want to make original graphics for my YouTube channel but haven’t found a solution. 
I began working on a Windows desktop app in C# where you choose a shape from a drop down and then fill out relevant attributes — length, height, border/fill colors etc and it draws it on the canvas. I was taking a class where we needed to draw up a simple mockup of the GUI of the apps we were building as homewor assignments so I was trying to make myself a utility that would allow me to build a UI mockup without being able to see it. Long story short, I got it partially finished but moved on to other things and never finished it. Maybe I should dig back into it.

According to the FAQ on that page:

This also brings up my question. Which TTS is updated on atguys.com that I can use with the new NVDA update? What is the difference between the Eloquence on atguys.com or the one on nvaccess.org. 

All I can see is the atguys have a 3 licence for their TTS, but I take it that nvaccess.org TTS is a 1 user licence?

It can be done with NVDA's speech dictionary.  You'd need to use a "regular expression" (regex) to avoid having enter every possible combination of numbers.  Actually another way (since I haven't ever sat down and properly learned regex, and I haven't fully thought this through) I just tried, is to make a speech dictionary entry to change "." (period or full stop, no quotes) to "dot" (d o t, again no quotes).

Hi Cordelia,

A log, information about the programs / versions running, and steps to reproduce could all help.

A couple of other things which can help:

- If you've recently updated NVDA or any other program, make sure you have restarted the computer as this can solve random bugs which happen in between installing or updating software, and restarting (it's one of the reasons most software, including NVDA, recommends restarting after installing).
- Restart NVDA with add-ons disabled: Press NVDA+Q, then down arrow to "Restart with add-ons disabled" and press ENTER.

I have noticed that recently when I am in Firefox and press NVDA+F6, NVDA says "not available here". I've reset Firefox and NVDA's configuration to no avail. I am running the latest Windows 10, and have not yet updated to NVDA 2019.3.

Anyone have suggestions?

NVDA+F8 is indeed a command and it opens a list of the currently active tabs in a browser window. I have a home and work computer, and it works on my home computer and not my work computer. It does not work with Internet explorer, but Firefox is the only other browser on my work computer.,

Before resetting things and losing settings, if that's what happened, the first thing to do is to try the command in another browser.  What happens if you do?

There is no NVDA f6 command.  You are using a browser command, f6 to move from pane to pane or to different structures in the program.  Just use F6.
