Hi Everyone

I am using Windows 7 and the latest version of NVDA.

Is there a way to get NVDA to display more information about files and
folders in Windows Explorer? In Window-Eyes I have set it to display the
Length, Date Modified and Size but cannot see a way to amend NVDA to do
this.

Yes and I had a problem with nvda not speaking anything that I typed into the search box on the start menu
With an update in windows that seem to fix it
I will try VLC media player Because I haven’t done it since I installed the latest release candidate
I check windows every day for updates in case there’s not something I missed

I must admit I'm not across all the possibilities, but things like it will be easier to change the order of things which are spoken.  Whether that means we can add options so users can order everything the way they want, or just make it easier for developers to change things in code I'm not sure, but no doubt there will be more published on it.  I'll try and put something together for In-Process.

Acapela sounds with NVDA addon, do they work?

Hi all. I'm trying the Acapela addon. I found the following post.

My builtin.dict in c:\program files (x86)\nvda looks like this.

However, I hear no sounds, I just get "number cry zero one number",
that's all spelled out in case somebody does have sounds working. As far
as I can tell, I've edited the dictionary file correctly, or at least,
according to their post. So has anybody gotten this working? I mean,
it's not the end of the world if it doesn't, it just sounds like it's
supposed to be a working feature, and it doesn't appear to be, at least
for me. Is there some other dictionary file I need to edit or something?
This is in NVDA 2019.2.1, Acapela 1.5, I figure I won't worry about the
version for 2019.3 until 2019.3 is out, since I'm just trying it out
anyway. I've tried Ryan and Sharon, both 22 KHz and HQ, and Rona 22 KHz.
They all read the same way.

The transition of NVDA from Python 2.7 to Python 3 is, for me, a good

change, and necessary.

Have you tried out the Gene voice or the gene 2 voice which is a bit
higher they are nice to listen to. To tell the truth I mostly use Gene
there is no echo etc.

Josh! I like what windows ten has done to E Speak for NVDA! I’m
happy with it and liking it! I thought the NVDA developers who
created E Speak worked E speak to work better with win ten! E Speak
did improve in win 7. But win ten made E speak sound even better!
Not worth complaining about. I just configured E speak to my liking.
I don’t need no other voices. I like what’s there!

You guys are complaining about spending $70 on a voice? I remember
when you had to spend $200 or more likely $500 for a good voice like
decTalk or keyNote gold. So why are you complaining? If you have
windows10, the oneCore voices work excellent and support many
languages. ESpeak also sounds good if you set its voice correctly or
the way you like it. And that $70 from www.atguys.com
<http://www.atguys.com>; gives you both eloquence with all its voices
and vocalizer with all of its voices. So $70 is a really really good
deal as far as buying voices is concerned.

Have you tried out the Gene voice or the gene 2 voice which is a bit
higher they are nice to listen to. To tell the truth I mostly use Gene
there is no echo etc.

I agree that espeak does sound so much better on windows 10. I don't
need any other voices either. I'm using the Max voice one right now.

Josh! I like what windows ten has done to E Speak for NVDA! I’m
happy with it and liking it! I thought the NVDA developers who
created E Speak worked E speak to work better with win ten! E Speak
did improve in win 7. But win ten made E speak sound even better!
Not worth complaining about. I just configured E speak to my liking.
I don’t need no other voices. I like what’s there!

You guys are complaining about spending $70 on a voice? I remember
when you had to spend $200 or more likely $500 for a good voice like
decTalk or keyNote gold. So why are you complaining? If you have
windows10, the oneCore voices work excellent and support many
languages. ESpeak also sounds good if you set its voice correctly or
the way you like it. And that $70 from www.atguys.com
<http://www.atguys.com>; gives you both eloquence with all its voices
and vocalizer with all of its voices. So $70 is a really really good
deal as far as buying voices is concerned.
