What did they do? As I recall, they aren't
selling Eloquence for Android any longer but can't you use what you already
purchased?

Hi, I only used Eloquence with jaws. I use whatever voice NVDA comes with. I change the rate to my liking!

I stopped using Eloquence a while back. I didn't think I'd ever get used to a different voice, but I now actually prefer Microsoft Zira in the OneCore voices, and yes, you can speed them up. You have to go to the rate boost option and check it. to get to the rate boost option, I do the following: NVDA+control+v, then tab over until you hear rate boost. Check that box and tab to OK. You might be able to play around with the rates after checking that rate boost box before going to OK, but I'd hit OK, then I'd go back into those settings and set your rate and then tab to OK again. If you have NVDA 2019.2 this should work. I think the rate boost option came as a feature to 2019.2. It was either 1 or 2, I don't remember, but I'm certainly glad it's available. Hope this helps. How is this achieved? It might be causing more issues than helping. For example, when I refresh a page on Facebook, it doesn't refresh. If I try to go to another Facebook page, It doesn't show I've switched to a new page without me either alt+tabbing out and then back into it.

Eloquence in XP and Windows 10
Gene
For anyone still using XP who is interested, Code
Factory states that MSAPI5 Eloquence works in Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10.
I tried it on my XP Service Pack 3 machine today and it runs properly.
Many years ago, I tried it on another XP machine I no longer have running
Service Pack 2. It ran in that as well so it will probably run in XP in
general.
Also, since an MSAPI5 synthesizer should run in any
program that supports MSAPI5 speech, it should run in the beta versions of NVDA
as well as in the earlier versions. So it should make no difference if you
are going to use the new versions as they come out or continue to use an old
one.

What do you mean by the newer version doesn't work like the older versions? What are you using, an NVDA add-on or something else? You can use Eloquence in the new version of NVDA. The Code Factory Add-on has been made compatible. You should be able to use the SAPI 5 version with NVDA. I haven't tried it but there is no reason it shouldn't work.

New terminal features
Bruno Aníbal Prieto González
Hello,
Wishing you a merry Christmas, I am writing to raise some concerns about the new terminal features in NVDA 2019.3. Specifically, with CTRL + up or down arrows it says that you can move the console window up or down to be able to read what is before or after. However, using the WSL you only get a sound that indicates that you pressed the wrong key, and in Powershell or CMD although it starts reading what is before, it is not possible to navigate to it using the review cursor modes. It is also indicated that with CTRL + start or end you can go to the start or end of the console output. But these commands, at least in Powershell and CMD are reserved to delete the text written before and after the cursor. Anyway, they don't work on WSL either. I would be very grateful if someone could tell about their experiences with this topic or if something else is known. Thank you very much in advance

It comes off my nvda audio tutorials page which can be found at http://www.accessibilitycentral.net/nvda%20audio%20tutorials.html When you get to that page jump down by heading until you get to the basic's of making a ticket for nvaccess there is a link just below the heading to a written tutorial. It shows you where to go or sign up for a account etc.
Hope it helps.

Hello,

Yes, since I reinstalled Windows from scratch, and decided to choose English UK as system language, I'm using OneCore voices, and I must say I love them. They work very well with NVDA, are less intrusive than other voices (softer to the ear, somehow), clear and very flexible. Now I need to install some other voices for different languages, but I think this is gong to be my tts of choice.

Is there any particular reason not to use a
compatible version of NVDA at this time? If there is no important reason
to switch, you can wait to see if a compatible version comes out or you can
purchase something compatible when you have a reason to use a newer version of
NVDA. I don't know what else may now be compatible but the Code factory
add-on is and I would think that the SAPI 5 Eloquence you can purchase would be
compatible because, being SAPI 5, it relies on SAPI 5 and doesn't care about how
NVDA is coded, so long as it properly implements that standard, which has
nothing to do with the transition to Python 3. (spelling)
