I'm sure there isn't but if you are using any sort
of competent word processor, it will have a word count feature. I don't
recall a screen-reader offering a word count feature, though it appears yours
does. I never used Dolphin.

at Quentin, Hi, i have been talking with the dev of RH Voice, the addon does work with latest versions of nvda, but something quite recent has broken the voices selection ring. You can select a voice but You just get what ever default voice You had. The dev has had this reported to her from another user. so sorry if I seemed a bit snippy. I sort of thought You were just dismissing the problem and just putting it on the addon, anyway sometimes we bash an email out and we read it and it can seem harsher than intended. so I again on list say I am sorry if I seemed a bit snippy, the dev says she will take a look at it when she can for now we have to live with the bug all the best to all on this list over the festivities.

If you use Dropbox and use the application, you
will have it forced on you. There is no way to stop the application from
automatically updating when the update is sent to you.
Do you know how to open Dropbox properties in the
system tray? Open properties, tab around and set the combo box to show
folders in Windows Explorer. I don't know if it says file explorer in
Windows 10. There is no way to make the permanent change in the actual
opened application itself.

I think you may be working with different versions – whilst thankfully I have not got this new version yet I have seen others on another list complaining about the dreadful accessibility of the new DropBox. From memory the advice there was to go into the new app settings and change view settings so that Windows File Explorer was again the default vehicle for DropBox rather than the new app and possibly use something like “Classic” view settings. I cannot be definite as I have personally managed to avoid the new DropBox app. David Griffith

This shows the importance of not assuming a
solution isn't available without asking on lists like this or the chat list to
be sure. At times, people go through a lot of trouble and inconvenience
because they assume that if they haven't found one, there is none.

I have no personal experience of this but have heard from others that it is apparently it is possible in the new program to change view and return the default file viewing etc to File Explorer.

The boost adds extra distortion, and artifacts even with ESpeak. I suspect it's the same with one core voices as well, I don't know. I have noticed that the sound clips when I start NVDA unless the sound card is already open, and the first tiny bit of speech will get clipped off as well, but once it has started speaking and has the sound card open, it is fine. I'm not sure if this has to do with this sound card being configured in a way NVDA doesn't like, (it only supports 24-bit audio), or if there is something with NVDA, since all other sounds are fine.

Did you raise the native 1 core voices to 100 percent and control the nvda slider after that? That tends to help me there. I have the rate boost on and I don't notice any choppyness.
