Re: wx and python 3.8.0

Hi.  With reference to the wxPython mailing list, The developer has not yet made a version compatible with Python 3.80.  It will be out in a few days, duration not made known, and also the version not made clear as he is still thinking about whether he should be extending the current 4.06 build of wxPython or versioning it straight to 4.07.  Cheers!

Re: wx and python 3.8.0

Hi,
Python 3.8 stable came out two days ago, and as pointed out below, it'll
take a while for dependencies to catch up - the developer of wxPython wrote
on a wxPyton mailing list that a Python 3.8 version of wxPython is in the
pipeline (which gives me a reason to try it out in NVDA via source code form
soon).
Cheers,
Joseph

Typically, down arrowing once focus is on the extension's button is the next step.

Thanks and apologies if I'm missing something obvious ...

As an example, I need to use an extension called Google Webscraper. I've installed it, and I see it with alt and then arrowing left. Presumably, somewhere, there should be some kind of dialogue or window where I manipulate the data of the website I'm using it on. But I can't work out where that is.

does that make sense?

you must post starting Ccleaner go by pressing tab on advanced cleaning and give enter. Then you will see all buttons with tab.

Hi all,

Are you using CCleaner with NVDA? I found that when selecting an item in CCleaner, NVDA does not report check boxes. This is quite annoying, because I think it could be done so that NVDA announces check boxes in CCleaner.
It might be a good idea to contact the developer who is in charge, some users are reporting problems.

Re: Use Chrome extension?

I am uncertain what you mean by "launch them."   Extensions are active once installed.

In any Chromium-based browser, the Extensions Manager itself can be accessed by ALT,Down Arrow,L,E.   This will open the Extensions Manager browser tab where you can choose to disable or remove any extension you have previously installed.  If there are settings for a given extension these are generally accessed via its button, which is presented sandwiched in the area to the right of the omnibar/address box and to the left of the menu button.  Hitting ALT to throw focus to the menu button and then left arrowing will take you through the extension buttons for the extensions you have installed that present buttons for settings.

If you're looking for new extensions those come from the Chrome Web Store - Extensions Section in the case of Chrome itself and many Chromium-based browsers will also accept extensions sourced there.

Hi, does anyone know where exactly with the keyboard I can find Chrome extensions, to use them with NVDA? I can add them fine, and I see the menus for managingthem by disabling/removing/changing permissions, but for some reason I can’t work out how to actually launch them? Thank you,

Hi,
Ultimately, that depends on wxPython, as there may or may not be a Python
3.8 optimized build.

Re: waterfox new version scheme

Well that version seems to be gone and I wouldn't actually install it.

It did work, but it stopped youtube videos from playing and aparently from comments effected some video plugins.

I left a message on the makers reddit about this to which sadly seems to be the only way of contacting them but oh well.

Point is, its just not ready to go.

Its not a big showstopper I guess if you never play a video from an online site like twitch or youtube but else it is.

waterfox false alarm

Hi all.

Well, so much for waterfox classic.

There were people commenting on the post that it didn't seem to work with some sites.

I tried on youtube and it didn't work.

The download page had 56.2.1.4, the main link has been reverted, looks like its not ready to go.

At least I had a good look at it.

However I want my youtube, so I went back.
