That isn’t surprising since they were both made by the same company.

It doesn’t say cap when using reade to end or reading line by line.  It doesn’t even say cap when moving by word.  In short, you get the same information as you do with pitch change.  I agree that this should be adjustable so it won’t say cap when typing if that is wished.

You need independent settings for the screen and the keyboard.  Window-Eyes used to do this very well.

Re: Thunderbird not entering trash folder

Daniel (and anyone else reading),

Remember that Thunderbird has a local Trash folder, which will just be noted as Trash.  If you want it to use your IMAP server's Trash folder you have to go through the dropdown to choose that, and afterward it will show up as something like, "Trash @ {insert email address here}."

Hi,

Go and grab Silenzio from here:-

http://www.stefankiss.sk/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=112

This keeps the sound card awake all the time. It's aggressive power management of the sound card that causes the problem.

Jaws has the ability to keep the sound card awake built in, but until we get it for NVDA, then Silenzio is the answer.

Hi Brian

Thanks for telling me about the server settings under the account section. For some reason, I completely tabbed over the treeview where the server settings are held and missed even more settings than I know what to do .

Trash was already selected, but I re selected it in the combo box after double checking what was in there. Now mail is moving to trash as expected.

Thunderbird is such a powerful email client!

Thanks again

Hello list,
I have now produced a short guide to the braille commands I can now use with a focus braille display and nvda.
The list is too long to produce on list so, if any user wishes to have a look at this first attempt at a guide they are welcome to do so.
Please e-mail
dwhuckle@virginmedia.com
I'll send you an attachment.
This guide shows how I have found it best to use these commands, others might have found other ways but I know this thread has created a lot of interest.
I should like to thank those on list who have assisted me in this matter.
Kind regards,

Gone a long way since then.
A lot to say.
Rather than keep taking up space on this list, and at the risk of repeating myself, e-mail me at dwhuckle@virginmedia.com and I can explain how you achieve all I wanted to do.
The list you refer to isn't complete.
I have offered the developer of the braille extender add on, who is a French student and developing this in her spare time, to help produce further documentation.
She hasn't come back yet but I'll help anyone on list if I can.
Its quite good, a lot different to jaws but works with the focus displays.

Get back if you wish on the e-mail shown in this message.
Kind regards,
Dennis huckle.

When using my Gmail account with the thunderbird email program. After deleting emails, they end up skipping the trash folder entirely. On iPhone and iPad, they do go into trash before final deletion.

You might write to the authors of the Zoom Accessibility Enhancements Add-on, and ask them to help with this problem in their next version.

They won't be able to help with the screen sharing problem, but the links in chat problem should be solvable.

Hi,
You must install SAPI5 voices from somewhere other than Settings, the best example being a SAPI5 version of eSpeak NG that you must obtain and install (that product is free, by the way).

Hi,
You can install more SAPI5 voices, but you can't fool programs into thinking that OneCore voices are SAPI5 voices because they use different API's.

Re: faced 2 problems while using zoom with NVDA

That's the problem I have with accessing things on Zoom, I can't seem
to access anything until the chat is saved at the end of the meeting.
I can read messages, but I can't seem to copy them to the clipboard
until the meeting is ended, when a text file pops up with the entire
chat up to the point you copied.

For your first question you won't be able to access the slides. They are
images. For your second question I am able to tab to links, if not
access the text file that will be there at the end of your chat. Or save
the chat and the text file will update.

hi group members,

I am facing two problems while using zoom with NVDA:
1. I am not able to access the screen someone has shared in a meeting,
for e.g. when I am attending a powerpoint presentation I cannot access
the slides the presenter has shared during the presentation
2. I am not able to access a link shared in the chat box (I even tried
to copy it when I could not open the link with no success)

what could be the solutions to these problems?

thanks,
