Good Day: Thanks Joseph for the quick response. The keyboard setting was set to laptop. The skim reading was also turned off. As far as the down key, it was the down key on the four pack or the down key on the arrow keys. The question I have is why did the numpad incert key say bottom? Dave

Why not just use the arrow keys to read by line? No need in my humble opinion to use the nvda ones. Good Morning: I am using NVDA 20.3. I have tried to read with Firefox and Micro Soft Edge on a web page. When reading by line by pressing the down arrow on the four pack on a desk top computer, I can read the information. However, when pressing the NVDA key + the down arrow to read all NVDA reads the line only. However, when pressing the NVDA key bottom is spoken. I have never seen this action before. It doesn't make any difference what web page you are on. I thought it was how the page was set up, so, I went to the AFB.org page and this happened there as well. This is on Win 2004 version of windows. I am using Windows Essentials add on with NVDA. This started with Fire Fox with no add ons for NVDA. This is a fresh install of Windows.

In order to get notifications from Gmail webmail for message arrivals, you must have two different settings tweaked, one in Windows and the other in Gmail's own settings.
1. In Windows, make sure the browser(s) that you're using are permitted to give notifications in Settings, System, Notifications & Actions pane. I believe Microsoft automatically activates them for new Chromium-based Edge, but I have the entries for Chrome and Brave enabled for both banners and sounds. 2. In Gmail's settings, General tab, look for Desktop Notifications. If you want pop-up notifications you need to activate the link to allow them (desktop notifications). If you just want a notification via the action center, which is how most e-mail clients do it, then simply choose the radio button for the type of notification you want. I intentionally have Gmail set to Mail notifications off. Hi all, since recently, all tabs that I open in Edge are reachable when navigating through the open windows with ALT+TAB. I'd like to change that. If I want to have them in separate windows I can still create a new window instead of a tab. But having all tabs in the ALT+TAB chain blows it all up. Do you have any idea why that behaviour changed and if I can set it back to normal? Thanks and best Denis

Actually, that's what I tried to do first to connect my outlook email client with gmail but it gave me a lot of hassle despite the fact that I followed gmail's instructions for ms-outlook, I'guess I'm doing something wrong and I'm not notice it.

HI, Thank you for your email, what you said is true in case that I was using the ms-outlook as an email client with Gmail, but I’m using gmail through the web interface and as far as I know windows10 (subject to correction) does hasn’t have a way to detect that a new mail ingmail to detect a new email just come in. again I’m talking when you are using an internet browser to check mail such as firefox, edge, or googlechrome.

You can turn on your mail notifications and it will notify you even though the windows ten mail is not open. If that’s what you want. But in older versions of windows versions. It will notify you only if you have your whatever e-mail client you are using. I have mine turned off because of the kind of house I live in and I find it annoying to hear the mail notifier going off. It will go off wen you have your mail client open. That’s how I like it. If I’m waiting for an important message I’ll turn on the notifications. Either then that. I like it off.if that is what you are after.

It is not typical for any e-mail client, or webmail client, to provide notifications unless it is running or you are logged in.
The PC (or Mac, for that matter) behave differently, by design, than a smartphone. You either need to have an email client running or be logged in to your Gmail (or Yahoo, or Outlook.com, or whatever webmail client) in a browser before notifications on new message arrival will be provided.
