Or play with the tunes statements and put in several test variants of several klatt voices both male, female, child, some with lower and higher pitches, more or less bass, more or less trebble for a brighter or darker klatt voice, and then perhaps have a short little 3 or 4 question survey to find out which voice variant people like best or just put them up on the extra voices page. All the variants you have in espeak ng are excellent. But if you would mod the klatt voices some more, and really play around with the intonation file adding more tunes statements and assigning them to different variants mostly based on klatt... ESpeak could be and would be greatly improved. The more familiar it sounds to people, the more they will like it. People have grown up with eloquence, decTalk keynote gold etcetera for 20 plus years. But those are based on 25 or so year old code which will someday break down the road. So why not prepare for the future? Espeak I think is the way forward if devs would just take advantage of its features especially modding klatt voices, giving directions for other to modify klatt voices in various ways, and adding more and different tunes statements in its intonation file. I'll give this to espeak, it supports more languages than eloquence, keynote gold, decTalk, infovox230 from 1993 or so it really puts them all to shame with the amount of languages it supports. OK some may need work. But nevertheless they are supported. Several years ago someone named Gillam, on twitter sent me a voice variant and compiled intonations file and when I applied the variant, espeak began to speak, or talk almost exactly like keynote gold. Unfortunately I lost those files a number of years back. But if he could make it sound nearly exactly like a keynote gold synthesizer, then it could sound like anything you wish by adding some tunes statements and playing with the numbers in those statements. doubleTalk, decTalk, dolphin apollo, whatever you like.

I am talking only about the latter.  That was described by me, in detail, in the referenced content on the JAWS group.

I use CTRL+K strictly for hyperlinks.

I am talking about object linking and embedding here, and had hoped that there may have been something I missed about making NVDA (or any screen reader, in all probability) actually tell you the name of the file that's linked and where the show as icon option for the linked content was employed.

A big, "Amen!!," to that!  A topic is just that - a unit - and the solution to an issue, when found, should be at the end of the topic where the issue was identified and assistance sought.

It also makes much more sense when folks search the archive.  They can see everything related to a given instance of a question from beginning to resolution in a single topic.

Problems to read CCleaner Kamo

Ruben Garcia

Hi,
We are facing one issue, very few users are facing that NVDA doesn't support specific windows application 'CCleaner Kamo', otherwise on same machine other application are being accessible thru NVDA.
It was observed that NVDA is fully supporting the same 'CCleaner Kamo' application build on other Windows 10 systems.

Here are our findings:
- Specific user observed that one 'CCleaner Kamo' application (Windows) is not accessible thru NVDA, however rest of the application's seems fine on the same system.
- This issue specific to one/two users only.
- Desktop application went thru accessibility testing from 10-12 different windows 10 systems and it ran thru all test successfully.
- Also checked that same 'CCleaner Kamo' Desktop application is being accessible thru JAWS/Narrator on same machine where NVDA wasn't able to support.
-When the user clicks in the application it says, "Chrome Legacy Window, Unknown"

Here are the details of the test environment
Windows Machines where facing problem:
Window specification 20H2 19042
NVDA version- 2020.4
CCleaner Kamo app v. 2.0.218.258

Windows Machines where CCleaner Kamo is working fine:
Windows specification 20H2 19042
NVDA version- 2020.4
CCleaner Kamo app v.- 2.0.212.252

Thanks in advance

I just checked the latest snapshot and Edward and Edward2 aren’t there.  While I doubt this will have any im;pact on the upcoming production release, those who want those voices may want to contact whomever is appropriate.

I don’t know about alpha versions but those are probably not related to what will be in this production version.  As I recall, the second beta is usually the last before the production release.  So, if Edward is not available in an alpha, that may be something people want to bring to the attention of whoever follows and implements E-speak for NVDA, but I don’t think it has any relevance for the upcoming production version.

Also just a reminder that if you solve an issue you have asked for help with and want to share that - please do so as a reply to your original post.  I took the time to reply to a query earlier, only to then come across a later post not connected to the original one stating that the issue was fixed.

4.  Think very carefully about the title you are going to give any topic you post.  The topic is the first (and, sometimes, only) thing a member sees and that may be how they decide if they’re going to look further.   Generic titles, such as “Help Me!,” or, "Weird problem," are not helpful because they give no idea about what.  Compare that to something like, “NVDA not reading Excel cell contents,” or, “NVDA setting for pronouncing numbers,” where the exact issue where help is needed is front and center.   Even something like, “Need help with the following . . .,” lets the reader know that you are going to present a list of issues.
