Try NVDA+CONTROL+F. This will open the find dialog on websites and you can do your search.

While we're at it, I press enter on an email in Outlook, and it doesn't immediately open. I have to press enter twice.

What version of NVDA are you running? What Windows operating system are you running? That's enough to get us going.

You can configure the caps lock key to be the NVDA key. You should definitely do this.

Could very well be that. I should turn it off and see what happens. I hope these things get straightened out soonest.

It should work fine with NVDA. Eventually, you’ll be forced to upgrade, or you will no longer be able to use that twitter client. Twitter will force that to happen.
