Softwares to compose music for the blind
I missed the beginning of this, but if you're looking for stuff that does notation, MuseScore can at least read it, rather you can read it with it, and some work was done on making adding notation acc

Using NVDA In Safe Mode
Do you have any sort of USB sound device with an output? For instance, I have a Yeti microphone which also has a headphone jack on it. Narrator defaults its output to that, at least it did when I had

Yep, I uninstalled the addon in fact because I figure I don't need it anymore precisely because the support is built in now. I don't necessarily use them a ton myself, even when I had the addon, but I

Speeding up one-core voices.
I used Brian's way, though I'll have to try ease of access too. I wouldn't put it up to the maximum because for me, that gets choppy and hard to understand. I have the Windows speech slider set to 75%

When I say choppy, I don't mean that it breaks up or anything. I mean that when it gets fast enough, the ends of words and sentences sound, to me at least, unnaturally cut off. I know a lot of people

NVDA and VirtualBox
I'm pretty sure I recall one of the devs saying that you have to use the command line to set up a virtual machine with it. I think at least one of them uses/used it to test.

It's possible the addon isn't compatible with the latest NVDA. Download the SAPI 5 version, a language pack, and at least one voice for the language. Install them, in that order, and tell NVDA to use

I assumed so. That's why I just grabbed the SAPI 5 version. But I didn't want to state definitively, since I didn't do any testing.

NVDA 2018.4-Beta 1 doesn't read emojis for me.
Just tested the beta, and it doesn't read emojis, at least for me, with any synthesizer. I get X of Y, e.g. 1 of 50, 2 of 50, and so on. This happens even with the one-core voices, which used to read

NVDA 2018.4-Beta 1 doesn't read emojis for me.
OK, just restarted with all addons disabled. Here we go with trying to enter an emoji. I could enter one, but it read the same way, 1 of 50, so I have no idea what it was. So I deleted it.

ergent help needed with phonetic transcriptions
The hopefully attached IPA dictionary was posted to this list quite a while ago. I don't think I ever got it to load, but maybe somebody can take a look at it and see if it works.
