When I hit numpad 8 to read current line, it reads a completely different line. Same with previous line, word or character ETC. The tutorial was called getting started with NVDA.

I have no Idea what mode I'm in. The response is always different. I am new to NVDA. I was a 20 year window eyes user.

Jean, First of all, I must have copied this tutorial "getting started with NVDA" from the web and pasted into Wordpad. I believe it was to help window eyes users transition into NVDA.

This also happened to me for the past 3 or 4 times that essentials has notified me to an update. Thank You.

Lee, Like I said, thee last 3 or 4 essential updates, I'm notified, of the update, and follow go promps and receive some kind of message stating the update failed. No other issues with add ons. thanks

There is also the malicious tool removal. From the run dialog box, type mrt.exe and hit enter and follow the prompts.
