Hi, I have similar problems, and am looking for another mail app to use. However, did you try limiting how much email TB pulls down? This is a huge performance problem, especially with gmail accounts.

I am using GMail in Chrome right now. It works fine, but it is too verbose and requires quite a few keyboard shortcuts to get around.
