Yes, but that’s not useful when you are traversing folders and want to know which ones have unread messages in them. This should have been fixed a long time ago in NVDA, in my view. All the best Steve

Hi, In Windows 10, it still has a hook loaded, but I think that's what gives it the advantage. You can also run a portable version of JAWS without the hook though. All the best Steve

Is there an explanation for this strange NVDA behaviour?

Hi, That's hardly a fair comparison though, comparing the latest NVDA with JAWS 14. If you compared like with like and said JAWS was less responsive, that would be a more interesting data point. I per

Hi Joseph, This does indeed work for Narrator. Thanks for it. I’m not worried though, as JAWS works as well as it ever did with settings, but I just thought I’d report it. All the best Steve

Just to be clear, the problem is not with opening the settings app, the problem is that the list of options is not read when you tab out of the search box. All the best Steve

Even more confusing. JAWS works fine for me, I'm on JAWS 2018. What version of JAWS are you on? If 2018, you should update to the July build, then I suspect it will work. All the best Steve
