Well, I really only want them suppressed when they are in the subject of emails. Sounds dumb I know but I hate having to listen to brackets around things in subject lines because I get so many emails

I am using MS David. could be the issue since it pronounces many things incorrectly but not certain how to determine this. Will have to try some other synths. Dan Beaver.

I have tried adding a dictionary entry for "[blind-t]" and gave "blind tech" as the replacement string. I have added this to the default and the voice dictionaries. NVDA still pronounces "[blind-t]" a

Quitting NVDA - The standard "what do you want to do" dialog with combo box is not appearing. Why?
Sorry Brian, I wasn't meaning to sound critical about the choice. I was just inserting my feelings about the dialog when I shouldn't have. I should have simply answered and not vented. :) Dan Beaver

Quitting NVDA - The standard "what do you want to do" dialog with combo box is not appearing. Why?
In the settings under general about 3 tabs down the list there is a checkbox that says show exit options when exiting NVDA. Check it to see the exit dialog or uncheck it to stop showing the dialog. I

Noticing that "Family" being mispronounced with some speech engines
If you are meaning that Family is being pronounced as though it is spelled famly instead then yes. I believe it is because most of american culture has started pronouncing it this way so they changed
