OK, I’m getting it. In Screen Review mode, I had to maximize the window. Once I did this, NVDA truncates the file name, but then does read the properties of the file. With JAWS, one need not maximize

Yes, the windows Properties dialog does give a wealth of information, and NVDA reads it better than JAWS does, but it is not a quick as the way I outlined. I also see that I can glean the information
