Hi Brian, The following is a workaround. Go to the editable field, and you will be able to read it with ctrl left and right arrows, press enter to be able to edit it.

windows feature update 20h2
For this update, I will wait a bit, but if it won't come up in a few days, I will likely force it. Also, getting a new computer, and will download the 2009 iso and directly install that.

nvda doesn't speak first few characters of information
Brian, out of curiousity, what sort of issues would this cause. I really despise the software enhancements that come with soundcards, and think it is laptop manufacturerers trying to make their cheap

Hello Joseph, This would also bring up the obligation of developers to support obsolete software, such as win 7/8, and soon to be 8.1

But Brian, the problem remains that these enhancements mess up audio output of NVDA, especially compression effects, due to eloquence being a formant synthesizer, probably what happens is it compresse

This is due to enhancements, and computer putting audio card to sleep. Stable NVDA will enclude a fix for this, but until then there are programs etc to download to stop this behavior.

Finereader is by far the best OCR solution on the market. It just makes sense to stick with them. There was a major upgrade in June apparently, and the OCR was improved even more.

Office 365 with NVDA
The accessibility improvements more than justify this. Office 365 is considerably more accessible over time, and has features that never make it into the three year releases of office.
