Have you tried Windows Terminal? NVDA support was added in a somewhat recent release, and further improvements are expected. It can run PowerShell and WSL. My personal preference is to run Linux nativ

You can select your input braille table as well as your output table. Of course, it is entirely your decision whether to enter text using the braille display's keyboard or the host system's qwerty key

I didn’t encounter any problem – audio-related or otherwise - with the very latest (optional) Windows 10 1909 update after installing it. So, for my hardware, a Lenovo ThinkPad P51 laptop, it’s fine.
