"window invisible" and "no next" please help with object nav

Rusty Perez

Hey folks,
I've been using a screen reader for a long time, but object nav is
relatively new to me.

I really need object nav in Reaper the digital audio workstation, but
it doesn't matter what program I'm in, NVDA reports "window invisible"
when I press nvda-numpad5 and I get "no next" or "no previous" when
pressing nvda and numpad 4 or 6. Numpad 2 and 8 give me "no containing
objects" and "no objects inside"

I'm sure this is user error, but I can't figure it out.

Please help.

Hi Rusty,

Do you have "Focus moves navigator object" enabled?  It is enabled by default but can be turned off either from the Review cursor preferences, or by pressing NVDA+7 (on the number row).  When turned off, the navigator object will remain where it currently is until moved manually, or until this setting is turned on again and the focus moved.

Regards

Quentin.

hi quentin.
i have this issue too.
when i want to read dialogs of libreoffice, i face this problem!
i did not change the option that you mentioned, but object navigation
is very difficult for me to learn and use.
i wish that libreoffice works for showing messages and dialogs in
version 5.3 and newer, but unfortunately does not!
i prefer the method of jaws for reading inaccessible content, while
one person says nvda object navigation is more complete and perfect
than jaws.
did you find any solution for libreoffice 5.3 and newer for solving
this problem?
