Navigating amongst controls on the main screen in Webinaria

Pranav Lal

Hi all,

Has anyone tried webinaria for making screen casts? It is an open source
program. You can get it from
http://www.webinaria.com/

There are a bunch of controls accessible via the context menu in the system
tray which helps but I need to set devices. I can read screen elements if I hit
nvda key + b but I am unable to locate the controls with object navigation.
Note:
Simple navigation is disabled.

Pranav, have used it a little bit, and, for example, to find the publish button near top right, to actually output the video resulting from recording, I used screen review mode with NVDA.

Is this easier/better than Open Broadcasting SOftware?
Main issue I've with OBS is that sometimes the window isn't screen captured fully or at all, so I get a partial browser window or a black screen with only NVDA TTS.

I've just used it to record screencast demo's of some forms of web-page interaction, or to sort of help some sighted guys understand what am talking about, but, seemed to record video capture of whole screen, including PC's audio output, etc.

But, haven't tried anything like live streaming using it, if that's relevant.

Stay well

Oh yes, and I liked that fact that it allows global hotkeys to start and stop recording, whereas after that you need to use screen review mode to then have video clip generated/saved.

What format does it save as? Does it record system audio and microphone?

Hi Jacob,

I have tried screen review mode in the recording window. I am unable to find any
text with that mode. I want to adjust the sound source in the hardware tab.

Been a little while since last really used it, but, think it just recorded system audio output - you could set system audio to listen to microphone, but, remember main thing was extracting audio from video clip using audacity, tweaking it a bit, and reassigning it to video clip using virtual dub, and then reconverting that video clip to something a lot smaller - ongoing issue with virtualDub is trying to get it to use alternative encoders, but anyway.

Just fired up webInAria, and if read dialogue/window, see it offers setting to record microphone, but, not sure that would then include actual system output as well, and, yes, the interface isn't perfect, but, like said, like that it offered global hotkeys to start, pause and stop recording.

Ok, like said, just used it for simple recording, and it seemed to be just using system's audio output.

Suppose there might be a keystroke to bring up options, etc., but, not sure what that is/would be

Alternatively, you could use virtual recorder at same time, since it's specifically an accessible recorder for recording either/both system audio output, along with microphone, or just microphone, etc.?

Issue there would be getting audio to match video when you then merged the two later on.

Hi Jacob,

It offers that setting but I am unable to navigate to it. The hot keys will help but I want to change the microphone that it is going to use.

Sorry can't be of more help, but, really just used it for simple little tests. Virtual recorder does, alternatively give you a bit more control over what it will listen to/use as recording source?

You'd then still need to patch the audio over the video clip though, using virtual dub, or something similar?
