firefox issue

I don't save passwords in Firefox but I do use a password manager. I don't know how user friendly it is for those with no vision, thus NVDA. (I am low vision). What I use is www.LastPass.com

I actualy have a base metnod for memorisirds and can easly create about 32 charactor passwords if needed. I still wirte them down and copy them to 1password but the method is very very easy. I learned it from a smart computing article. And everyone else things the pws look like a bunch of random stuff.

By the way alt r for remembering passwords in the latest firefox doe work for me so dunno what's up.

You don't have to rely on your brain.  You can make notes of them and keep them in written form, if you read Braille and if you wish, or in a file on your computer, which I think should be password protected, or you can keep them off your computer in some way such as on a note taker or a recording device of some kind.  Trying to remember passwords and not having them available in some form is a very bad idea.  There are also password programs that keep passwords encrypted on your computer and, as I understand them, will enter them for you.  But, as I said yesterday, I've seen one or more comments by computer advisors that having a browser remember passwords is a security risk.

One of the common issues with firefox is that nvda seems to suggest that a button has focus, ie or to restart after an update for example. This is not the case. it needs you to use the shortcut to press it. I think somebody in the firefox dev team or maybe at nvda who writes the app module might like to apply their mind to this as it also affects alerts that say, we detect that this page is asking to be redirected or something similar and alt a makes this work, but its by no means always clear its not actually a button in focus.

Which version of Firefox, which version of nvda.
I have to say, I had some problems with this on Windows 7 with any version of Firefox after 56. I now am using Waterfox as the default browser and its much more stable. I am not saying it was nvda that was doing it, I suspect it has something to do with Firefox not actually reporting what its done very quickly to access software as alt tabbing away seems to show nvda still OK.

Admittingly not a very standard configuration, but using Firefox 61 beta 6 with NVDA 2018.1 and Windows 7 64 bit, I am having no issues setting new bookmarks with the control-d key stroke.
