Firefox and this webpage?

Matt Turner

Hi folks.

ff, won't load this page.

It just keeps sitting there.

https://simplynuc.com/

The page loads in chrome.

I tthink it could be this laptop.

Windows 8.1 64 bit, the latest versions of ff, and NVDA.

Anyone else seem to have this problem?

Try disabling the addons you have installed and see what happens after that

A quick way to do this is to go to the help menu and select restart with addons disabled

See if the page loads after that

Hi, I'm using the beta version of ff.

I've downloaded a portible version of waterfox, loaded the page, and got the same thing.

Note: I've had this laptop for 7 years, so that's why I'm thinking it could be the problem.

Well strangely enough, although the main page seems to work in waterfox I get an error.

In other words it seems to be saying google is not there. We had this earlier in the week with another web site which used google calendar so I'm a bit purplexed by this one.

On running firefox I find that there is that youtube thing on the screen, and somewhere about half way through loading the whole computer is slowed down hugely until it grinds to a halt. I suspect some terrible script at play and it could well also be the cause for the non loading of the google part as well if the machine simply is slowed down so much it misses the response from the site. Certainly on an I5 with 8 gig of ram and an ssd drive this performance is very unusual on the web.

Not entirely. That page seems to slow down my computer so wondered if a sighted person might see some useless animation or something on it. Something is misbehaving.

Yes when in that google part the whole thing starts to use cpu on all cores in waterfox and firefox, up to 36 percent of all but one cores are being used according to the resource checker add on in nvda.
