NVDA and MS office

Don H

Having just upgraded from microsoft office 2003 to microsoft office 2016 I find NVDA much more responsive.

Great to hear Don!

There are some things that have moved a bit since Office 2003.  You can still use the old menu keystrokes (if you remember the full sequence) but it is worth learning how to navigate the ribbon.

If you get stuck with anything, yell out, and if you'd like to go over ALL the features in Word, there is the Microsoft Word with NVDA module available as well which also covers the ribbon: https://www.nvaccess.org/product/microsoft-word-training-for-nvda-ebook/

All the best,

Quentin.

Hi Quentin

Is there a price connected to the module you talk about?

There is Christo, it is $30 Australian.  It will convert to your local currency automatically as you buy, but roughly it should work out to $22 USD or 19.3 Euro.

I just used Google for those prices, so it may vary slightly.

Quentin.

For those wanting to upgrade their Microsoft office I was able to get office home and student 2016 for $60.

Microsoft Home and student does not Outlook but for me Thunderbird works well for my Email client and I don't need the calendar and other features in Outlook. I am mostly interested in Word.
