NVDA not working with links, Again

the last 3 versions of NVDA that I remember, currently with the latest
2018.4 beta2 With chrome browser 64bit on windows10 up to date NVDA not activating the Start voice call" link on facebook messenger webpage. https://www.messenger.com https://web.facebook.com/messages pressing: enter, shift+enter, spacebar, insert+numpad 5 then left click, ensert+f7 select link, then tab to activate also no good objPad all curcer modes also not working with it. Application key doesnt work with it just like it's not been selected, nor the shift+f10. BTW its working fine with FS jaws18 2018 2019, with the enter and the spacebar, and the applications and shift+f10 keys. There are more webpage links I've found not working with NVDA, while internet browsing, didn't save them. I'd try to list and report them next time. Best

You may have answered this before, but for r3ecord keeping purposes: is this specific to Chrome (perhaps Chrome 70 or above), or can you reproduce this with other web browsers? Cheers, Joseph

Just tried it with Firefox60 ESR, and edge It works fine.

So its a Chrome only issue. But still with chrome jaws works!! I hate to switch screen reader just to click a link. You know what I mean.

I seem to remember a discussion on WEB AIM where links that have off-screen text for their label don't work with NVDA and a specific browser. I don't remember if it was chrome or firefox. Essential HTML code: <a ref="someplace" class="icon reply font"><span class="SROnly">Reply</span></a> Any chance you could get the results of NVDA-F1 and/or the results of jaws-co then I could probably tell if your link is coded this way. ntrol-alt-F1 Take care!
