Clear and perfect. No doubts at all :) Em 10/03/2019 22:52, Andre Fisher

It is indeed possible with configuration profiles. Let's say you, by default, are set to the laptop layout, but want to use the desktop layout in a certain app. Just create a configuration profile while in the application you want to use the desktop layout in, then press Control+NVDA+P. Press Alt+N for the new option, then choose the option for the current application. Then, configure the layout and other settings as needed. Save the settings with Control+NVDA+C to be on the safe side. And, that's it. |

However, as for layout switching in the way I described, I've never heard of anything about. So am wondering if it's possible at all :) Em 10/03/2019 13:21, Brian's Mail list

I've never tried it, but there is certainly an application dictionary add on so one can have bespoke words defined as spoken a certain way in an application. I've not seen it on the list, but it seems to work. |

Hi folks,
So I have a question for you all, perhaps it has been asked here but if so it was way before I joined this list so here it goes. Is there any way to switch between the desktop and the laptop layout as we switch between profiles created? That is, suppose I have a profile created for a certain program and there I configured to use the laptop keyboard, whereas out of this profile my default layout is the desktop one. When exiting that window of that program, would NVDA get back to the default layout of my choice? Would it actually never change because there isn't any way to do such a thing? In case of it's the second option, don't you think it'd be interesting trying to develop an add-on that would allow one to do that if so one wants? |
