It Happened Again
Abbie Taylor
I was just now trying to open a file in Word when I lost speech and had to restart NVDA. I’m using the latest version of Microsoft Office with the latest version of NVDA. Below is the log. Hope this helps.

Hi what happens if you tell your system you
have no braile display at all?

Hi. from what I have read from your log, Pyo.braille is causing
some problems. Try loading NVDA and Microsoft Office without your
braille display and see what happens. Cheers!

Yes and in the previous log, the brailed interface was also implicated. Might be worth finding out if the driver used is the one that everyone else uses with nvda, it might be that simple.

I connect my BrailleNote Touch to my computer via Bluetooth, so I don't think I'm using a driver. Since the problem occurs most of the time in Word, I'll try loading it without braille connected and see if that makes a difference. Thanks to all of you for your suggestions.

Yes but bluetooth I have found to be really flaky. You are still using a driver though, otherwise how would it know which display you have, there has got to be handshaking there, and probably some latency as well.
