PDF: Quick links are interrupting the flow of text

Hi,

Quick links (I’m not sure what exactly they’re called) are interrupting the flow of text. We have kept them in every page of the PDF so that the user could go the previous page, last page, print the document etc.

Please help me in making NVDA skip reading these buttons.

Regards
Ramesh

Here is the screenshot of the scenario.

Hi there,

The image didn't come through (but even if it did, many in the group would not be able to see it), but are you talking about a program to read PDF files, or a PDF file you have created with links to jump between pages as part of the text.

If it's a PDF file you've made, I'm not aware of a way to skip them (otherwise, how would you find them if you did want to use them?)  Personally I tend to encourage people to learn how to navigate effectively so that such links aren't needed where there are commands which do it (which as you say, causes the problem you are encountering).  I'm happy to agree to disagree with anyone who thinks differently on that, but I don't have an answer for this scenario I am afraid.

Regards

Quentin.

HI Quentin,

Yes I agree but that is a requirement from my client to include navigation buttons.
These buttons are at the top right corner in all the pages, and they are read inconsistently. In one page the buttons are suddenly read after the first paragraph, and in one page they are read after the second paragraph.

Is there any way to make NVDA read these buttons as the last or first field in a page.

Regards
Ramesh

Do you have a sample you are able to email me, please?  Send it to: info@... (you can't send attachments to the list).

Regards

Quentin.
