nvda got stuck on taskbar
marvin kotler
Good afternoon list; marv here. Running the latest update of nvda and windows 10. Nvda got stuck on the taskbar and I had to restart my computer; probably a minor issue, just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem.

Hi Marvin, I can't think of anything to suggest (diid you try restarting NVDA only?) It may have been a wider crash in Windows itself. If you're reading this still using NVDA for the FIRST time after that happened, you should have an nvda-old.log in your %temp% directory. That is the log from the previous time NVDA ran. If you could send me that log to info@..., I can have a look and see if there is anything telling in there. Kind regards Quentin. On Thu, Mar 28, 2019 at 3:03 AM marvin kotler <m.kotler53@...> wrote:

Did it just happen once? If so, I wouldn't
worry about it. it sounds like something crashed in Windows such as File
Explorer. I'm very doubtful that this has
anything to do with NVDA. I can get pretty much stuck as you did if I
terminate what is called file Explorer in
Windows 10. Its called Windows Explorer in other versions. If it crashes, you can't do much of anything. Gene ----- Original Message -----

I was responding to the original message even
though Quentin's
message is quoted below mine. I wanted to make that clear in case there
is any confusion.
The original message, which I no longer have,
said that the person rebooted. That makes me quite confident that
the problem is something like File Explorer crashing. If this is a rare
event, there is nothing to worry about.

Brian's Mail list account
One other thought. Could there be a badly behaved icon in the shown part of the bar? a bit like the intel network security one that self expands to something that cannot be read or interacted with.
