strange issue with youtube

ken lawrence

Hi list ken here have just today noticed something.  While doing web searches for music on youtube I have noticed that the URL is partly cut off. It reads youtube dot com/watch and that’s it.  There must be a three dot ilipsis there but never saw that before.  It always read the complete URL. Is this an NVDA issue or a browser issue or perhaps a google issue?  Am using chrome as my default.

I think it is an NVDA issue.

use alt+d, then control+home or just home. press control+shift+end to
copy the entire url and paste anywhere. this is what i'm using based
on experience. whether NVDA reads the full URL from address vbbar or
not, it will surely serve our purpose of sharing with others.

nothing is difficult unless you make it appear so.

You should be able to move to the address bar and just copy.  the address is already selected so moving and selecting shouldn't be necessary.  It will save a little work.  So alt d then control c.

But in the question that was posed, that won't work because you are still on the results page.  If you followed the link and started the video playing, you could then copy the address from the address bar.  I've never checked this but if an add is playing and you copy the address, I would expect it to be the same address.  But test to be sure one time.  Copy the address, then paste it into the address bar and press enter.  After the ads play, does the correct video play?

Hi!
Chrome tends to try to be smart about more and more things, URL
sanitization probably being one of them. In other words, it's trying
not to intimidate you with a long cryptic letter sausage. If you go to
the address bar, however, you'll see it in full glory for copying.
Best,
Felix
