If I may ask, what version of MS Office are you using?
Since
at least Office 2010 MS-Word is able to open and save in ODT format.
If you've got a recent version of Office you should be able to
edit
and save ODT files in their native ODT format without using Libre
Office at all.

Well the good news is that if word and excell are all you need the home/student version is ok its 140 dollars in new zealand.

If you need outlook and powerpoint and a few extras thats uping it to 350, even then thats only 200 bucks more for 99% of office.

With sway, todo, lens and onenote freeware, you are basically having to pay in pro version of office access and publisher which to my knowledge not many consumers use at all.

Saying that if you do work in a company situation I'd high recomend seeing if you can get in the home use program thats 30 dollars per office.

Not that its worth much but you get the pro+ which is the enterprise version of office.

Yes you can buy pro plus for 10 bucks on ebay but weather you want to risk piracy prison is your business.

I haven't performed a detailed feature comparison, but the reviews which I have read indicate that Microsoft Office is still well ahead of the functionality available in Google's G-Suite or Apple's iWorks. LibreOffice is closer in regard to features, while also having the advantage of being free and open-source software, but its accessibility has considerable room for improvement (based both on what I've read and what I've experienced).

Or if on pc is all you will use it on its 80 dollars for a lifetime

As long as that pc is fine then you don't have an issue.

I think unless you get a key and just install it on another pc

Thats cheaper than office but has anyone used this.

The only people that don't are those on single devices like myself.

hello again.
previous versions of microsoft office need odt 1.0-1.1 if you
need to support recent versions of odt format, you need to have
microsoft office 2013.

save ODT files in their native ODT format without using Libre
Office at all.

Its free and bar a watermark on printed files is fine.

Now its 30 a year and maybe cheaper per month I forget but you can

Or if on pc is all you will use it on its 80 dollars for a lifetime pc

www.wps.com

I havn't tried this it does a bit more than standard office, document and pdf conversion and a few things.

It seems that from forums a lot of people that switched from ms office line didn't like the direction of libre or open office families and switched to this.

In one case online the software has been reportedly installed all over the place and is not good, however, it was only 1.

I do know from security sites I read thats its been round since 1997 and that it is chinese.

So it is almost as old as modern office office 95 and earlier excluded.

hello again.
previous versions of microsoft office need odt 1.0-1.1
if you need to support recent versions of odt format, you need to have
microsoft office 2013.

ms office aint that bad I am going to shift my aunt who was in business into using it as she has worked with it at work.

I'd dearly like her to use free office and software but she is spending on a laptop, and will get office.

Has anyone tried wps office at all?

Its free and bar a watermark on printed files is fine.

Now its 30 a year and maybe cheaper per month I forget but you can subscribe a pc and some mobile devices to it.

Or if on pc is all you will use it on its 80 dollars for a lifetime pc licence.

As long as that pc is fine then you don't have an issue.

I think unless you get a key and just install it on another pc afterward.

Thats cheaper than office but has anyone used this.

She has an ios and an android device and since she is cloud based, linking her cloud to her computer with ms apps is not a bad thing I guess since she has a 3 device chain.

The only people that don't are those on single devices like myself.

i agree with you brian.
i realy wish another solution for replacing with microsoft office.
but in libreoffice website and there bugzilla, i realized that
libreoffice is written in c++ language.
the previous versions only were accessible using java and java access briedge.
but since version 4.3, fortunately there is no need for installing
these extra component.
java now is needed specially for database.
