When you say the Sam driver are you referring to the free Dolphin synth Access Manager that I've seen an add on somewhere to use in nvda?

I have not used this method of late to use Dolphin derived voices because, to be honest most of the ones available that way are digital type voices like digital Dave and not as good as Espeak in my opinion. Well when I last spoke to Dolphin they were quite happy to allow it as free download, but of course I don't think it can use any paid for voices unless you have a licence, ie I have licenses for Daniel and Serena as part of their Daisy book creator, so I'm fine. I really don't see much of an advantage in using the driver otherwise.
