NVDA and edge
Chris Shook <chris0309@...>
Hi,
Is there anywhere I can find shortcut keys for microsoft edge. I can do things with it, but it takes a while to get to the home button and to navigate favorites. I was wondering if there were key commands to speed the process up a bit. |

Hi all! Edge is almost my daily browser. With NVDA, it is very snappy for me, and I can navigate complex web pages, just like with Chrome. I can play videos, use sites like espn.com, stream TV in Edge, and on and on! Edge is my browser 80 percent of the time with NVDA. JAWS is another story, but the latest NVDA and Windows 10 1709, fall Creators work very well with Edge. I would give Edge with NVDA a B + at least! David Moore Sent from Mail for Windows 10

Hi,
I am using NVDA and edge works fine on my windows vm using build 1709 fall creters update. If you use jfw, you might want to waite a bbit as work is still being done to improve on edge support. Just my thoughts n the matter.

I am unconvinced that it's goind to matter much
over time, but we'll see. One reason firefox is using a different engine
is to get more speed and, according to some reviews I've seen, it is now a
little faster than Chrome, though the difference, it appears from the very
little I've read about this, isn't significant. A number of years ago, Kim
Komando observed that browsers are becoming increasingly alike and as time
passes, I suspect this is increasingly true. so this or that browser may
be better at one time or another but in general, I doubt it will matter much
over time, assuming they all remain reasonably accessible.

I too tried Edge tonight. I only tried the BBC Website and it was slightly stuttering and a bit painful with jaws 2018 even with Edge support turned on but I was delighted with the the performance of Edge and NVDA. As I say I only looked at a few BBC news stories but nevertheless the performance of NVDA in being so snappy in responding to the browser and reading content was very reassuring. With these pages at least I will not be left behind with web access as long as NVDA keeps up its support.. Thanks and congratulations must go to the NVDA developers for the enormous amount of work which must have been involved in getting this support nailed on to Edge. David Griffith.

If you want to do anything in Edge that you could do in IE I think you simply press F6 and then go tab to the Settings and more button, press enter on that and then select open page in IE.
