Hello,
What versions of word are valid with the NVDA word training? Thanks. Dave.

Hi David, I wrote it using Office 365, but aimed for compatibility from Word 2010 and later. If you do find something which is different in a particular version of Word, please do let me know. Regards Quentin.

Thanks for your reply. I'll let you know if I find any issues. I've got a word issue that i'd appreciate any suggestions on as it's not suppose to be happening. Whenever I start word 2010 I think this is pro, there's a five to seven second delay. Whenever I alt tab away from word then back to word there's also a noticeable delay like maybe about five seconds and during that time word won't read back what is on the screen. Again whenever alt tabbing away from word and back to it then activating the ribbon there's a noticeable five second delay from the time I hit the alt key and the time I hear upper ribbon or whatever section I'm in. The only thing I can think of is there's a setting in word that's on and needs to be off any ideas what it might be? My system specs the relevant ones are a 1TB 860Evo SSD, 32GB of DDR3 ram, and an AMD FX-8120 8-core processor I shouldn't be experiencing any lag yet I am. Oh word is also activated. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks. Dave.

Hi David, That's a tricky one. A couple of things to try / check: - Are you using any add-ons for Office which might be impacting performance (EG OCR / grammar checking or other things). Try disabling those and see if the problem persists. - Does the issue still occur without NVDA running - possibly tricky to assess without sighted help. I'm not sure which version of Windows you are using, but on Windows 10 at least, you can run Narrator to check. - Office has a "repair" feature which will check to see if anything is corrupt or misbehaving and endeavour to fix it. It might be something is not working properly in Office that this could fix. - Does it only happen in Word, or does it happen in other Office programs? EG the delay moving to the ribbon I would expect to be replicated across Office in most cases. - Try pressing NVDA+Q then down arrow to "Restart with add-ons disabled" and press ENTER. If the problem goes away, it is likely an NVDA add-on you are using - look for add-on updates and / or reenable your addons one at a time and see when the problem comes back. That should identify the culprit. After all that, if you go to your NVDA settings - NVDA+control+g, set the log level to "debug", recreate the issue in Word, then press NVDA+F1 to open the log view, select all (CONTROL+A), copy (CONTROL+V) and then paste in an email to me, I can see if anything obvious appears. Regards Quentin.

Thanks for your reply. In answer to your questions going in to word under the addins menu the only one I see is the acquire from openbook option, I do have openbook on this system. How would I disable that to see if that's the issue? I just checked excel, the ribbon issue does seem to be occurring there as well. I'm trying to do a repair, but the only option it's giving me is to remove it. I am using win10 pro 64 bit. Let me know if any of that helps, i'll get you that debug information, it doesn't seem to be an NVDA addon. Thanks. Dave.
