There are other synthesizers such as vocalizer that you may wish to try. I am currently running a trial version of code factory vocalizer and from what I can gather it seems almost as responsive as eSpeak.

First, your message says sent from my IPhone.
I have no idea if you are asking for voices for a computer or voices for
something else, like your IPhone. I am going to assume that you are asking
about voices to use with NVDA, but it is important to define what you are
talking about. I would have answered much sooner but I didn't know if you
were asking about NVDA or an IPhone.
Eloquence is as responsive as e-speak and it has
the best speech I know at fast speeds. It pronounces the most words
correctly of any synthesizer I know without using the NFVDA speech
dictionaries. in other words, it pronounces the most words correctly by
itself of any synthesizer I know.
You can get a demo of an Add-on for NVDA which
you can try that has Eloquence. You can also get a demo of a SAPI5
version of Eloquence. they both run for a week and you can decide which,
if either, you prefer.

I also love 1core. It's very responsive, and does not freeze up on me and I love extremely fast, perhaps maybe once every half second or so, and no lag at all, especially when I have to make quick choices. You won't be able to hear it as I am using VAC but trust me, it's responsive. Maybe a sound card issue perhaps?
Blessings and happy Friday.

I don't have the One Core voices. But I doubt
you can listen at 350 or 400 words a minute and have them remain easy to
understand, as you can with Eloquence.
If I listen at 400 words per minute, my
comprehension isn't as good but the speech remains very understandable. I
would imagine some other people listen at 400 words per minute or faster with no
loss in comprehension. My loss of comprehension is because of how fast I
can take information in, it us unrelated to the speech quality which, as I said,
remains good.

What nationality is the Catherine voice? I have Mark, Zira and
David as the American English voices, and I downloaded Susan,
Hazel and George, the British voices. I'll try out Catherine if I
can find her--or it. LOL!

Mark’s cool. My favorite is Catherine.
I like the one-core voices too. I'm using Microsoft Mark and
he's very clear.

I also love 1core. It's very responsive, and does not
freeze up on me and I love extremely fast, perhaps maybe
once every half second or so, and no lag at all,
especially when I have to make quick choices. You won't
be able to hear it as I am using VAC but trust me, it's
responsive. Maybe a sound card issue perhaps?
Blessings and happy Friday.

I did it in settings, but I can't remember exactly where I went
to do it. LOL, I should always write these things down in case I'm
asked.
