Hi. Press control plus NVDA plus . quickly three times once you've moved the cursor to the current word you want spelled phonetically. NVDA will spell it phonetically, (example: mike, bravo, etc.) Hope this helps.

I am not sure if this is what you need, but to get the information for a character such as a, alpha ... z, zulu on a laptop
press the NVDA key (I use caps lock) along with the period key tapping the period key twice quickly as you keep the caps lock pressed.
Tapping the period only once along with the NVDA key just reads the character.
