nvda with a youtube to mp3 converter program

Dan Thompson

Hi All,

I have been using the free youtube to mp3 converter for several years.  But suddenly I can not seem to get the url to paste into the converter and auto download into the music folder.    I am using verson 3.3.12.59 build 5.5.   It seems the new version of this program from  DVDVideoSoft  in the new 4.62 version has become very unaccessible.

I wrote a chapter in a book using my laptop with nvda and version 3.12.5 build 5-05.  However, now with the new verson nothing downloads automatically even if I get that bock check, and that is quit challenging itself.  The menus are rather unaccessible.

Is there another youtube to mp3 converter that is easy to use. I work with seniors, (55 and older), most around 65 years.

I will be greatful for any advice.9files to

Thanks a bunch, I will try it.  Does the converted file get saved in the music directory?

Hi Jason,

I found Pontes_Media_Downloader_Install_v2.exe  at

https://download.freedownloadmanager.org/Windows-PC/Pontes-Media-Downloader/FREE-2.0.5423.21416.html

Is this the correct version?

Also could give me some directions on how to use the program. Thank you very much.

ESET will not let me install this program as it repeatedly try to block the installation saying it is dangerous.

It insists on blocking it even if I hit ignore.

Any comments on why ESET thinks it is dangerous for my Pc?

A lot of the installation files for this particular YouTube downloader are packed with Adware. You don't need that headache on your computer. Heed the warnings from your virus program.

I use youtube-dl which is a command lien based program. It's free and very very robust. It's actually very easy  to use as well. It can do all that your GUI stuff can do and more.

Is there any clue as to how to use it?

The documentation seems to assume you have a  degree in programming.

A basic set  of instrukctions for a Windows  User would be very useful.

It appears that you need to run it from a command prompt but how to do this and where to put the program to achieve this, and if possible an example of how to use it  would be great.

I don’t  know if this exists anywhere.

suddenly I can not seem to get the url to paste into the converter and auto

download into the music folder.    I am using verson 3.3.12.59 build 5.5.

It seems the new version of this program from  DVDVideoSoft  in the new 4.62

version has become very unaccessible.

I wrote a chapter in a book using my laptop with nvda and version 3.12.5

build 5-05.  However, now with the new verson nothing downloads

automatically even if I get that bock check, and that is quit challenging

itself.  The menus are rather unaccessible.

Is there another youtube to mp3 converter that is easy to use. I work with

seniors, (55 and older), most around 65 years.

I will be greatful for any advice.9files to

Hi David,

You're right that we need command prompt to execute it.

  • Download the exe to a folder. Here's the download link https://yt-dl.org/latest/youtube-dl.exe
  • Open cmd.exe and navigate to folder where youtube-dl.exe located
  • Execute the command to retrieve all available format (Note that we use capital F)
    • youtube-dl.exe -F [youtube_url_you_want_to_download]
  • The software will download metadata containing available the format you wanted. There'll be multiple options to choose. We even can download audio only file.
  • Then execute similar command to download media file that you wan (we use small f lerter here)
    • youtube-dl.exe -f [format_code] [youtube_url_you_want_to_download]

Example to download full HD video (format code 22) from nvaccess:

youtube-dl.exe -F https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOQ7zELFmLE
youtube-dl.exe -f 22 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOQ7zELFmLE

Note
  • Add location where we save youtube-dl.exe to system environment PATH in order to access it from anywhere
  • If you add playlist URL, it will download all the videos
  • If the program unable to download, perhaps google made another modifications. Just download the new version and it should work.
  • The good thing of command line is that NVDA works really well with it

The documentation seems to assume you have a  degree in programming.

A basic set  of instrukctions for a Windows  User would be very useful.

It appears that you need to run it from a command prompt but how to do this and where to put the program to achieve this, and if possible an example of how to use it  would be great.

I don’t  know if this exists anywhere.
