I will also note, that Espeak has definite issues under Windows 10 and
2017.3.
The longer the text you read, the more harsh and distorted Espeak becomes,
until
it reaches some threshold and resets.

Espeak is definitely not pleasant in that use case. Some people might say it

never is, but for someone like me who uses and prefers it, under 2017.3 it
is
difficult to listen to after a short time.

something. But when my windows 7 died I lost all versions. The one I did
get back was NVDA 19 something. I didn’t think it would work for windows
ten not unless like you said if you were testing addons. It would probably
work. I would have given it to Zarah but I lost it when my 7 lost audio and
died. I did have it on a thumb drive but when I loaned the drive to my room
mate while she was helping her mom they deleted it thinking it would not
work for win ten. They installed the 19 version on her mom’s ten box just
as they did mine. Oh well. That’s how it goes.

according to my understanding from your comment, if i find one system with windows ten, (all current and previous versions of windows ten are equal in this regard) that i can use them for basic usage. am i right?
