looking for a free synthesiser
Hi good people:
I am in ee of a free synthesizer for NVDA. Before now, I used the I used the auto language for eloquence. I didn't know that that program was a cracked one, and it no longer works with NVDA. I am not comfortable with the default speech of NVDA which is ESpeak, because I don't understand the speech, and it is even too low. I also know of narrator, or Microsoft API5, but I am also not comfortable with that too. That synthesizer is also too low. So, are there any free other synshesisers that I can try out. At the moment I am managing the 40-minute version of JAWS. Regards. I am Ibrahim. |

Hello. First, Codefactory has a SAPI 5 version of Eloquence that you can get for a price. I don’t have the price on the top of my head, but if you google Eloquence for NVDA code factory Eloquence. Another add-on they have is the Eloquence and Vocaliser expressive add-on for NVDA which also Codefactory makes, and it contains Eloquence and Vocaliser in one add-on. But as for free voices, the only free voices that I know of are TruVoice, and the Microsoft Speech from 1999 with Mary, Mike, and Sam. A slight correction. I think you meant windows one core voices. If your' on windows 10, NVDA doesn’t use ESpeak as the default voice. Instead, you get the one core voices by default if your on windows 10.

Which version of windows? does it have to be in a certain language or is english ok. Speech platform synth/voices might do the trick if before windows 10 I have not tried them on Windows 10. There is also the speech hub program that will work on computers from 7 to 10 but only in english. Gene nz On 13/07/2020 12:15 pm, Ibrahim Ajayi wrote:

Hi there: Is it a language barrier with your synth? Is that why you are finding it difficult to upgrade to windows ten? I had to upgrade to ten. My 7 box died. The sound card burned out and some of my usb ports quit working. The computer was funtionable. I had no audio and it was badly slowing down. A sighted worker took it from me. He asked if he can have it after he put my stuff on this system off the hard drive. I said sure. I gave him the windows 7 disks. He scrubbed it and he used it for his video games. He put in an external sound card and disabled the one I had there. Not much longer after that the hard drive went and he just recycled it.

There are 2 packages in this zip file. one is the speech platform synth and voices there are quite a few languages there. You need to install the run time file first then the synths. the other one is RH voices and synths . I will leave it in the drop box for 24 hours or so and you can download it from https://www.dropbox.com/s/9kh3aip9atldlho/synth%20packages.zip?dl=1 The speech hub package page can be found at http://www.speakon.org.uk/SpeechHub/public/docs/NVDAClient/index.html there you can find out more info about it and its synths/voices. you will need also to download the latest add on for 2020.1 or it might be the version before. The synth package will need to be installed first then you must install the add on for nvda to see those synths/voices. the link to the page where you can read more about it can be found at http://www.speakon.org.uk/SpeechHub/public/docs/NVDAClient/index.html The other one I just copied off my how to add additional components page but the voices are at the bottom of this page can be found at http://www.cross-plus-a.com/balabolka.htm This was the page it came off which points to other free and paid synth/voice packages at http://www.accessibilitycentral.net/how%20to%20install%20additional%20nvda%20components.html hope it helps. There is rh voice found here. https://github.com/Olga-Yakovleva/RHVoice That may or may not suit you. If you add ms voices from narator you may get some good ones. Finally enablerehab@... is the address you can email for dectalk, they only ask you to pay what you want for it. Some of the languages are quite quiet but that may work for you. Its sapi5. there is flite but thats really bad, there is speech hub and you could try those. There is this. https://www.nvaccess.org/post/high-quality-voices-available-for-nvda/ There is a wiki article on the speech synths for the reader but I can't seem to find it. Hello. An option is IBM TTS. Is an addon legal. Only the addon is a driver sinteciser for Eloquence. The files necessary for Eloquence are available, but the addon no include these files because... Well, a complex situation with Eloquence. You can write a private message and I can send a link with IBMTTS with the necessary files ready. Regards. Carlos Esteban Martínez Macías.
