hi
The same i use to do it the old way when i had a little sight if i remember right it was like pressing the f8 key until it gave me some options and one of them been safe mode. But when you were there the screen reader would not work. I installed the patch on this machine here then done the steps to go into safe mode confirm it look around then go back out of it. It will help next time if i ever have to go there for any reason that i can not do normally. We do not know if it works on a windows 8 machine so that is why it only says 7 and 10. I used to have a windows 8 machie but upgraded tit to 10 but if some body else trys it out and it works on a few machines will mention it there 2. Gene nz On 12/14/2017 4:46 AM, Kevin Huber wrote:

I need to do this too to remove left overs of avast on a machine. I'm sure there was a sound in safe mode fo4r xp registry patch, but the snag of course is that avast is policing the registry while its running, so may have to find a pair of eeyes for this one.

Hi
the old way to get into safe mode in windows 10 can be found here at https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-boot-to-safe-mode-with-command-prompt-2624541
You will need a pair of eyes to do this plus you might not even have sound.
So am guessing you will need to burrow some eyes and give them directions to fix the problem.

I was not sure if it worked on XP as when the directions went up i think at that time it had been tested on 7,8 and 10.
Would the directions from 10 also work on XP? to get into it as i used to do it the other way that was posted.
I have not any XP machines here now to test with.

Hi Adriani
I was considering linking to his tutorials I have it linked to his old site but way down the bottom of the nvda audio tutorials page from 2015 i think it was. But was going to move it to another position and update it. with some other tutorials on nvda only as in learning.
I thought i saw a thread of Joseph saying ithink not linking to it just in case it disappears or is moved.
I have downloaded all of his tutorials on the user guide also just in case it disappears. which i can burn onto a CD for new users here in my area.
There is no problem to link to his website but thought i red for people not to?
I am limited in my drop box account and his files are about 700 meg all up which i do not think i have space for I only have 2 gig limit.
it would be easier to link to the website so others who are new can use them to.
I think i still have a link to his new website i would have to check.

It has been tested with XP as well and it works perfectly. So am guessing you will need to burrow some eyes and give them directions to fix the problem.
