Hi all. I used WavePad for a small edition. The accessibility is good, but I only use this audio editor for insert a part of other audio in a part of an audio recorder or small operations, with the version free. And in this case, if I want select a part of the audio for delete, when you press shift+ arrow keys the audio also is playing but more faster. For complete works, I prefer Reaper, or a good option is also Audacity. Now, I use Wavepad for smalls and fast editions like delete a part, add other, join, and for more things Reaper, but also I have experience with Audacity. Regards.

Yeah..I have played with it a bit myself. But when my recently imploded band recorded our stuff, we used Cubase and I didn’t do the daw work – and I’m one of those people who bought Goldwave and, it suits my personal audio editing needs somewhat better though it is not a multi-track editor. So I haven’t really touched Audacity in years.

Hi,
I don’t know about these 2 programs, but I do use their transcription software, Express Scribe. It is nearly completely accessible. One can use a demo copy first to try it out before purchasing. I did buy the professional version and the price was reasonable.
Hope this helps,

But, of course, Audacity is free.- Ding, ding, ding!! It's also accessible and it's also powerful. Unless you're a professional who's doing this stuff constantly, which I am not, Audacity gives you tools you can't get otherwise without cost, and the tradeoffs with speed and "beauty of UI" are more than worth it, at least to me. There are lots of screen reader users, regardless of whether it's NVDA or another, that use Audacity because of its accesibility in every sense of the word. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 20H2, Build 19042 Any idiot can face a crisis. Yeah, Audacity ias a multi-track editor; I think Wavepad is supposed to be simpler and more comprable to something like Goldwave (except perhaps not even as feature-rich as that). If you want true project-style editing you need something like the other programmes you mentioned and have a bit of experience with..Reaper, Cubase, or, indeed, Audacity, though people I know who have more audio editing experience say it’s not the greatest thing to work with (slow and clunky, mostly). But, of course, Audacity is free.

Hi Jonathan. I use Wavepad every week to edit mp3 recordings and, although I don't do much that is advanced, I'm not sure that it will do what you're hoping it will. I don't think it lets you add tracks in the way that Audacity or Cubase will. I've used it to copy parts of an mp3 and save it as a separate track and then inserted it at a specific point in a different mp3 but I don't think you can put that section as a second track with the other mp3 as track 1. Something I used to do in Cubase was to record different instruments on their own tracks and then choose which tracks to have muted and which to leave unmuted, which is something I think you can do in audacity but not Wavepad.
Regarding accessibility with NVDA, I find Wavepad very accessible. I did have a small problem with an update once ... I use Wavepad mostly to amplify tracks, and one update made the amplification settings dialogue inaccessible, and they also changed the interface which I didn't like. I switched back to the version I'm using now, 7.12 and am very happy with it. I use the paid Masters Edition and I can also say that their tech support is very helpful if ever I've had a question.
