Irresponsive NVDA while writing the mail
pankaj singh Kushwaha
Dear NVDA users, GoodEvening
I'm faicing two particular problems while accessing the mail. first, nvda does not announce 'message body edit' second, while writing the mail, I can not read line by line, word by word and so on. Please look into the issue and guide me how can I use nvda perfectly? thanking 3 -- Pankaj Singh Kushwaha Ph.D. Research Scholar, Centre for European Studies, School of International Studies, "SIS" J.N.u. Message updated, because the information requested really isn't optional if an assistant is to know what they must know to help. Also, as Sarah said, there is some basic troubleshooting that should be done as well, and I've included a link to a previous message in the archive where I listed those.
In order to be of any assistance with an issue like this, any assistant must have: 1. The email client you are using, along with its version number. This must be supplied regardless of the specific type of software being asked about for that software. 2. The version of Windows you're using (if Windows 10, include the build number, which you get via the winver command) 3. The version of NVDA you are running (which should be updated to 2020.4 first, if you're not already using 2020.4) 4. What, if any, troubleshooting steps you've already taken (Thanks, Sarah!) and if you've haven't taken any, you need to read, The Most Basic Troubleshooting Steps for Suspected NVDA Issues, and take those steps and have the information about what they revealed. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 20H2, Build 19042 Any idiot can face a crisis. There's a lot you haven't told us, as others have explained.

The only solution oriented thing I can suggest at this point, is that you run the COM registration fixing tool, on the NVDA Tools menu. On an English keyboard, you can press NVDA+n, t, r, enter, and follow the prompts. Luke On Wed, 10 Mar 2021, pankaj singh Kushwaha wrote:

Out of curiosity what version of windows are you running? Back a few years ago on earlier verison of windows in the mail app and subject line etc you could hear the letters typed but when you went to review them it would not say the letters. I can not remember if what was typed up could be read by nvda and in a latter version of windows 10 that bug was fixed. I can not remember if the win escentuals app add on fixed it until it was fixed in a later version. Gene nz On 11/03/2021 10:49 am, Luke Davis wrote:

Finally, on top of all the things everyone else has said / asked, if you are using NVDA 2020.3 with Mail in Windows 10 - try NVDA 2020.4. We fixed a couple of issues especially around reading Mail which sound similar to what you have described. Quentin. 1. So am I to understand you're using Gmail via its Basic HTML webmail interface?
2. Did you restart your machine? (And I do mean restart, not shut down and power up). 3. Have you tried starting NVDA with add-ons disabled to see if that makes any difference? -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 20H2, Build 19042 Any idiot can face a crisis.
