How to Suspend lock screen while reading All with NVDA
I should also have stated that the Turn off display and Put computer to sleep settings are present under Plugged-In, as well as, On Battery. These should also be examined and reset to your liking.
In my case, sleep is set to Never when the computer is plugged in, while it's set to 20 minutes when on battery. -- Brian - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H1, Build 19043 Yep. Discipline. Accountability. Joy. Fun. Responsibility. That's what life is about. And in that order. ~ Liza Minnelli

Control Panel, Power Options, Change plan settings link. Then tweak the two dropdowns under On battery to extend the amount of time before the screen gets turned off and the computer goes to sleep. Also consider opening Windows 10 Settings, Accounts, Sign-in Options pane, navigating to the dropdown for Require Sign-in - When you've been away, when should Windows require you to sign in again?, and changing the value to Never rather than the default of When PC wakes up from sleep. This really depends on whether it's your computer, somewhere that only you have access to it, or if it's a work computer in a cubicle where anyone could walk up and wake it from sleep. -- Brian - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H1, Build 19043 Yep. in power options of control panel, you can decide that on battery and on pluge your computer does not go to sleep. also, if you wish to read long texts by say all command, in control panel display, just disable screen saver. On 8/1/21, Olcay AŞCI <olcay.ashchi@...> wrote:

hi group,
I remember reading the sentence in one of the NVDA Release documents, "run the read-all command will automatically prevent the computer from going to sleep". What exactly is the scope of this? Has there been any successful work on this? I would like to ask if it is possible to enable this function with a setting. While my computer is on battery, after 1 minute of inactivity, it goes to the lock screen and then the sleep process begins. Is the requirement to run this something I've overlooked?
