trying to read a google book with NVDA and firefox but am not having much luck
Stephen
Hello.
I am trying to read a google book, but am not having much luck. Do I have to buy the book from google play before I can read it, or can I read it for free? Here is the link in case anyone else wants to give it a try. https://books.google.com.au/books?id=hoPbDSDNLTQC&pg=PA167&lpg=PA167&dq=PROTECTION+SYSTEM+BY+MIKE+BROWN&source=bl&ots=Kem8k23AyL&sig=q6-LKfPb2uUwTQ9cXfbBQ7rKqBI&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjkhaSW8PvLAhXJFpQKHfdND_0Q6AEIMTAH Thanks. |

Well you need to buy the book then you should download adobe digital addition and download the adx file.

after that you run this file in digital additions, go to the documents folder and find the resulting epub file. Then use codex from jamesscholes.net to convert it to something readable and or remove the drm. You will also need an updated calibre engin to handle the conversion. Over that thats all you need. Are you able to tell me how to find the link to buy the book? After I log in to my google account, which link do I click on? I find the web site very confusing. Thanks. At 02:01 PM 4/8/2016, you wrote:

Hmmm I have not brought a book for ages.

However there should be a buy button or something somewhere on the page or a buy link. If you have not brought a book before you will be taken to the wallet where you need to associated a paypal or creditcard but after that you click a pay button, then pay, then you download the book from the page it brings up or from your library. What format is the book you're trying to buy/read? because most Google books are in pdf images only, and can't be read by a screen reader without being run through an ocr programme first. I don't now whether that's the case, but this is what happened to me, and I had to ask for refund. hth, ciao, Ollie Il 08/04/2016 06:15, Stephen ha scritto:

No... If you use Codex, you don't need to have Calibre installed. Codex is basically a re-packaged Calibre. Ciao, Ollie Il 08/04/2016 06:01, Shaun Everiss ha scritto:

Why don't you try to find this book on one of the accessible books website such as Book Share or any other web site that sells books for those of us who have disabilities issues and need publications in accessible formats? Hope you can find your book in an accessible form! On 4/8/2016 6:18 AM, Mallard wrote:

It's a link to a preview of the book, it's only an image and being a preview I would say yes you have to buy the book.

me neither, may be the publisher has a sale link. Are there more than 167 pages to this book? It looks like you can navigate page by page by putting page numbers in the edit box.
