sounds for NVDA

I won't criticize anyone for trying this, as sometimes it will  work.  But, eventually, it won't after a backward-compatibility-breaking NVDA release if a given add-on is no longer being developed.

That's why I avoid discussing ones that appear to have been abandoned.  It's worth rattling the cage(s) of the developer(s) if you need an up-to-date and compatible with current NVDA version of an add-on that's been lying unmaintained.

Sarah,

There was (is, but it's not been updated/tested with current NVDA versions) an add-on called Audio Themes.  I didn't even mention it since it hasn't been updated (even the beta version) since the NVDA 2019 era.

I particularly like the one I use which puts the sounds into a stereo sound map, and it helps with figuring out the layout of a screen if you have been sighted and want to understand a bit out what is going on.
It will need some significant work to make it completely compatible with next years NVDA from what I have seen as it relies on quite a few routines which will be changed or moved then.
Deprecated is a wonderful word!

There was a nvda themes ad on, do you mean that one? I forgot its replacement, if there was one.

What, precisely, do you mean by the above? There is an ongoing discussion on the Chat Subgroup (it could have been asked here, as it is NVDA-related) about this entitled, <https://nvda.groups.io/g/chat/topic/changing_the_sound_scheme_of/93303488?p=,,,20,0,0,0::recentpostdate/sticky,,,20,2,0,93303488,previd%3D1661701813127925796,nextid%3D1660030959708152507&previd=1661701813127925796&nextid=1660030959708152507> changing the sound scheme of nvda, if what you're referring to is a full sound scheme. And the conclusion is that this is not supported; under-the-hood tinkering is required.
