How to get this station to play?

Bob Cavanaugh

http://www.winkfm.com. The stream pops up at the bottom of the page,
and I listened to it a lot last summer. The trick I found then was
press enter on the unlabeled button and audio would start. Now
however, that doesn't seem to work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Gene

See if you can get the stream later.  I just tried on Tunein after trying the site itself and a message came up that the stream isn't currently available.  That may not mean it will be later from either place, but it may be.

Bob,

In NVDA when I land on the button that should start the stream NVDA says Frame Button.  That being said, it's not working whether I'm using NVDA or point-and-click with NVDA active or off.  The button just doesn't seem to be working, period.

Hi sorry Bob. I’m not in its location. It won’t allow me to play that station.

Are you getting a message saying the station is not available in your
area, or just not available period?

No, It asked me for my location. I went to see where you can play it. I didn’t see a play button.  It said the name of the song that was last played. It was Madonna like a prayer.  Sorry it doesn’t work. It sounds like a good station.  It said it plays favorites of yesterday and today.  I tried to go see what the playlist had. Some of the Canadian stations have that and you can play them. It sounds like its in florida.

Asking you for your location doesn't have anything to do with the station being available.  The station, as all sorts of sites do now, ask if you want to let it know your location and you can accept or refuse.  There are some stations that don't make their streams available if you aren't in a certain area, such as in a certain country but that isn't done in this way.  That is done by your IP address.

We'll have to see if the stream becomes available later.  As I said, Tunein displays a message that the station isn't currently available.  We don't know if it will be available later but a message like that implies that it may be.

Sounds like Geoblocking. Where is the person and where is the station.
Since Sony and Warner went on the war path with Tune in it seems a lot of stations cannot be played through third party pages, one has to find the actual stream address and use a media player to play them.

Just tried it on mytunerradio and Alexa tries to play the stream but its silent. My guess is that its moved its streaming or does not stream any more or is geoblocked in my country.

See if it will play on tune in or iheart.

But yeah there are many reasons for a station to just move.

It is not geoblocking.  There is a message that you get when that occurs in my experience.  And the station is in The United States and three of us in the United States can't receive the stream.

Not necessarily Gene, there are stations that geoblock to specific
states. Last I knew, this wasn't one of them though. There's one
company I know of that restricts their stream to CA, NV and AZ, but
you get an audio message saying so.
As for getting the direct stream links, sometimes they're available
online. In lots of other cases, you can use the browser's developer
tools to view the code, where it can be easy to find. I did that with
this stream yesterday though and couldn't find a URL. If you know a
certain company uses a provider that you know the URL formula for,
just substitute a station you know for one you know uses the same
provider.
