can't read the what's new section in the help menu

Louise Pfau

Hi.  I had no problem reading the "What's New" document with Microsoft Edge as my default browser right after I installed the update to 2022.2.4.  I'll keep the com registration fixing tool in mind if I encounter this problem in the future.

Thanks,

Louise

Microsoft Edge Version 105.0.1343.53 (Official build) (64-bit)

edge and chrome had updates yesterday.

Try restarting the PC - We often see odd things misbehaving in the time
between updating and restarting.

If that doesn't fix it, do let us know, but next maybe try running the COM
Registration fixing tool from the tools menu (NVDA+n then t).

Kind regards

Hi, everyone,

I wanted to read the what’s new section in the NVDA help menu. I hit
insert N for the menu, hit the down arrow to the help section. Then I hit
the right arrow to open it. When I hit enter on the what’s new section, I
was taken back to the desktop instead of the what’s new section. What could
be going on? I’m now running NVDA 2022.4 which is the latest version. Is
there a setting I might need to change.

Thanks for your help in advance.

I got the help OK but nvda repeated the first line several times before it got itself sorted out. Admittedly, this might not be new here, and can be stopped with control, but its a little annoying. In your case, maybe the way its opening the file in the default browser has become broken?
