I have been using a browser called Waterfox for some time. This is not the new version but the one built on the older code.
It works fine with nvda, as it is basically Firefox with an older version of the rendering engine.
However There was a minor update the other day the .07 to .08, and although it works most of the time, there are occasions when it freezes and crashes nvda as well. One has to re invoke the nvda shortcut to get it back and be able to close the frozen Waterfox.
I've not investigated too much and intend either to downdate or move back to Firefox, but thought I'd mention it in case it happening to anyone else.
All I need to do now its work out how to move usernames and password and shortcuts back though Firefox. Ahem. One for the chat group.

I would move to firefox latest.
Its ok for the most part, sometimes crashes on twitter but yeah.

Then just like norton utilities everythhing changed.
The program crashes a lot more and there are a lot of issues accessing things.
Its become quite disfunctional.
Also the disability community support is pritty much 0.
I reported my issues and the responce I got was less than friendly, in fact it was suggested it was my problem not their's.
I eventually left them.
The last known version of firefox I used is 2017.07 or 81 after that its junk and shouldn't be used.
Then again why would you.
Firefox has improved a lot.
You can't use noscript like you used to, but there is a navagation sound alternitive called firefox extrasounds.
Ublock is there, I had to get I want my rss for firefox for rss and I don't care about cookies for cookies and yes I did eventually get noscript however it all works differently now.
Firefox is on the cusp of actually making their own access engine.
Previously pritty much they said that using accessibility software was lowering security on the app which was the reason I switched.
However their community has been a lot more supportive towards the blind.
In fact when I have had issues with thunderbird and other things I have left a report and within 6 hours they have a lot of people trying to fix it.
If they find it in usually a week or 2 they have a patch and later an update.
Firefox works for the most part without any issues and I run the latest thunderbird and firefox versions as I write this, well the latest esr thunderbird and latest firefox for now.
That may change as things change but lets face it, if I need to I can use edge or chrome and often do for my work.
Anyway the mozilla stuff is updated regularly firefox more so than thunderbird stables but thats pritty much it.
My initial critisism was that the new interfaces came on and a lot of stuff was still legacy.
Some smaller devs complained but by and large a lot h have moved over now.
Bar the occasional crash usually on twitter, the program has botten better and better and I have no issues using it.

Well you can but there are all sorts of keyboard things you need
to do to get it working.
I haven't really tried as I have got used to not bothering got to
the point there were to many scripts all over the place.

Not sure.
Firefox had a change but to be honest while I have noscript
loaded its not bothering me or anything.
Firefox stopped direct access to some system menus and functions
sighting that they were insecure.
Noscript is now a cross platform brouser but my main script was
malicious sites but well the system seems to manage itself for the
most part and I have stopped worrying to be honest.
